Car has about 20,000miles, never tracked, only daily driving.
So i had same thing. Easy fix for dealer. It's a sensor that went bust on the damper(s). So it may not dampen your ride properly. Not big deal if your driving until it gets fixed. But do get it fixed. I have the adaptive suspension.

Same issue, and again dealer is replacing a sensor (and cable).

Same day drop off and fix.

I got the same error this morning doing donuts. I turned engine/electric off for 15 seconds and back on, the error popped up when I started and went away after about 30 seconds.

less donuts, more lobsters!

With that being said, I received the same error... cleared up on its own the next day and no issues

I have a same issue. I do not have warranty on this car as I got it from an salvage auction
I started my own thread on this http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1402525
if you have any ideas on how to fix this that would be great.

what I did before it went on is I replaced a front right knuckle and spindle. at that time my alignment was really off. after putting everything back together I was able to drive for about 10 minute no problem. next morning after speeding up to 15 mph the light goes on. and it only goes on when I speed up to 15+ mph.

I checked speed sensor, replaced my Battery, checked all wirings.
the only thing I do know is I have a P0685 code when reading OBD2

check brake fluid level. thats what caused a lot of errors on mine. you would think they would have a low brake fluid warning, but no.

This happened to me the other day. And my turn signals don’t work properly either. Is the ‘coding’ something that the dealership can do? Sounds like it can a few different things. Thanks!

I would assume so, they used BMW software. Mention the re-calibrating of the steering angles, that was a bit of a breakthrough. My with my wheel pointed straight it would register at like 20-30*.

I just got this error code in my car and turns out it relates to a hardware issue. However, it is possible that it could be a software glitch on other vehicles as well.

Just got Chassis Function Restricted msg driving ever so slowly in a parking lot. Anyway parked it for now at work but hopefully it's just a software glitch.

I got a chassis stabilization error in a 2014 bmw x1. I was on the way to work, and it turns out, one of the bungs in my charge pipe was loose and it fell out, causing a massive boost leak. Not sure how in the world a charge pipe leak caused a 4x4 and chassis stabilization error, but it went away and hasn't returned (knock on wood) since the bunch was replaced and tightened.

Resurrecting this thread...

I got the same code this morning on my 2018 F80, along with an active headlamp malfunction error. Turned car off and back on, headlamp warning went away but chassis error remained. Also couldn't change the drive modes (sports or sports+), I guess that's a safety feature since traction control was malfunctioning - or the car thought it was, the DSC off light was on.

Went to work, and a couple hours later went to take the car to the dealership, no error. Took it anyway, and they're keeping it overnight to try to figure it out. The SA was not sure whether they couldn't replicate the error or didn't have time to figure it out since "the shop foreman was busy." Hopefully they'll figure it out tomorrow.

In the meanwhile I'm driving a Toyota 4-Runner loaner, not a fan!

Day 2: the dealer has ordered a steering rack...

Day 3: they tell me they changed the steering rack, did an alignment, and now they're going to update the software but won't finish today

Day 4: finally got the car back with all new software. Need to code out ASD again the first chance I get, I just got reminded why I hated it so much to begin with.

I got the Chassis Stabilization error this morning. It lasted for about 10 seconds after pulling out of my driveway and hasnt come back.

I already have to go in for a Tire Pressure Monitor malfunction and will report back to this thread on what they say.

Had this pop up on my 2017 ZCP today. 43K+ miles.
I had just fired up the F80, set my suspension setting from Sport to Comfort and was turning off of a flat road down a steep hill (right turn). I can only presume it did not like going from a level surface to a long articulating angle directly after start up and switch to comfort...
Everything seemed to be functioning properly on my drive home.

Had the Chassis Stabilization error and it was the ABS speed sensor in my right rear wheel. I used Carly to read the sensor that was failing. Replacing it is fairly simple. Once you start driving the errors go away.

Exclamation All sensors going off

My wife has a 2017 430i Gran Coupe.... Chassis Stabilization error started going off and on about 2 weeks ago....

Now she has ABS, Brake and Cruise control malfunction warnings that pop up on dash.

They go away and then pop up every now and then.

Something electrical going on but car is out of warranty and didnt take it to dealer yet.

Any ideas or experience with all these faults?

Ive been reading through these threads and saw one guy replacing everything at the dealer and still has issues.
So before I take it to the dealer and they try and rebuild the car as this other guy did and spent almost 4000.00. I was hoping someone had the same issues and was able to fix it.

Thanks for input

Did you ever get this fixed?

I just had the same thing happen after filling up the gas and parking the car. This was after not driving the car for quite some time. Chassis Stabilization warning message on dash and 24 error codes appeared on a scan. Car seems to be in limp mode. 2016 M4.

Anybody have any ideas? Battery? Entire ECM? Car is out of warranty
