Protecting fenders/bumpers while wrenching?

What is everyone using these days to protect the fenders and front bumper while working under the hood? Any recommended products or household tricks?

I haven't used them in a while but a quick search shows that they're really inexpensive these days:

Only the griots, which is terry microfiber. Won't scratch.
