M Badge on seat looks like it's cracking - will BMW replace them?

I just went to bmw on 1-29-19 and the seat m logo is covered under warranty, they had to order it since they didn’t have any in stock but they are paying for it.

Does the invoice say 3 hours per side? Was this performed at the DMV???

I did my right seat in about 8 minutes because it was first time and left seat in about 5 minutes.

BTW im selling my black M3 badges, $240 shipped.

I don't know why it wouldn't, but depending on your deductible, it is likely equal to the cost of swapping them out yourself.

Just to add another data point, BMW of Mt. Laurel just replaced my cracking/delaminating silver emblems with the black ones (under warranty) without a fuss.

Best to call Maxcare. There are different companies Carmax works with so the best thing is to look at your Maxcare contract for the phone number.

Case in point, my Maxcare doesn’t cover the muffler.

I'm about to go in for Round 2 of emblem replacements. Covered under warranty no problem. I'm hoping to get black ones this time, I'm wondering why they even make silver ones anymore since F8x's switched to black years ago.

I would recommend kindly asking if it's possible to get the black ones instead, as the silver ones keep cracking. When I got mine replaced earlier this year, the dealer actually called to apologize that the silver ones were out of stock and asked if it was okay to use the black ones, which I was very happy with.

BMW is replacing mine under warranty. I asked my service advisor, who I’m cool with, if she could make sure I got the updated black ones. Told me she has no say in it, all up to what BMW sends them. So I’ll cross my fingers for the black ones. You’d think if BMW introduced the black emblems on the ‘18s because the silver emblems are susceptible to cracking that when a ‘15 - ‘17 came in for this they’d always update them to the black.
