Not correct. Maybe if you want to dent the hood do this.

If the hood is really hard to Close just adjust the rubber stops or latches slightly, depending on how the hood aligns with the fenders.

Yes i am. If the hood isn't pefectly adjusted it can be harder to close it. It could be Worth to look at that.

Issue is the latch has so much tension on it, which is apparent by the way it springs up when you pull the lever, that closing it requires significant force. It’s not an adjustment issue.

Yes, that's right, there is a lot of tension in the latch. But it can be worse if the hood isn't properly adjusted, that's what i mean.

This thread is only about closing the GTS hood. Not the same as the regular M4. You have pages of GTS & CS owners explaining that the only proper way to do it is with a swift snap/slam. Owners have direct guidance of this method from delivery specialists at the Welt and BMW M engineers. And there's a video on page 2 of a BMW tech doing it. Why are you talking about an adjustment issue?

I know it's about closing the GTS/CF hood. I "slam" mine down myself but if it's not properly adjusted you will have to slam it even harder. Don't you understand what i mean? When mine wasn't adjusted correctly it was very hard to Close so i needed to adjust the rubber stops and the latches to make it perfect. Screw out your rubber stops and see if makes any difference, maybe then you understand what i mean.

Do you wait 15k between oil changes how bmw advises too? lol if it matters I have an aftermarket RW full cf hood, never even tied slamming it. Press on the area where the hooks are and good to go. My hood doesn't bulge in unless I push it really hard

So, direct guidance from M engineers, GTS product specialists, service departments, and thousands of successful "slam/snap" hood closes by GTS owners is akin to the 15k oil change interval? Okay

The misinformation and distraction in this thread is bizarre. GTS owners, close the hood exactly like the video below for no problems. Done it 100+ times now. Push and pressure on the thing at your own risk. If you want to test, put the hood into "pre-latch" position and start pushing down on it some. See if that feels right to you vs. the recommended and proven method...

+1. I don’t have a GTS but do have the GTS hood and this is exactly the way I close it. Trying to latch it and then press on it doesn't work as it buckles the hood. Since I installed the hood myself, adjusting the 2 rectangular catch brackets on the hood goes a long way in determining how easy or hard it is to close. Each clockwise turn on that latch makes it harder to close as it closes the gap between the latch and the catch bracket. Turn it counterclockwise and it loosens. If you slam your hood and it only catches the latch on one side then you need to loosen the catch bracket on the side that doesn’t close 1 turn at a time (counterclockwise) till it closes.
