Torque tube bushings: Subframe needs to be dropped
Rear Diff: Subframe needs to be dropped
Clutch: Subframe need to dropped
Control Arm Bushing: Stock are complete utter garbage, either buy new arms or spend 2-3k on bushings
Master Cylinder is crap, probably already sorted on a TT car if I had to guess
If its a c5z: replace valve springs yearly, not a big deal
Massive heating issues: Need to run all sorts of coolers and upgraded radiators to even think about pushing the car.
Brakes: Factory is awful, ABS unit likes to go south on you
Hubs: Again, awful.

Long story short, it was the most raw car I have owned, it was a blast, it wasnt a blast everytime I had to lay on my back trying to figure out wtf broke now lol.
I had a good chuckle reading this post. One of my better track buddies ran a C5Z for many years. While it was quite decently fast for a 2001 car, he kept complaining about the exact same things stated above. He now runs a 2019 SS 1LE and he is very happy.

That is exactly what I wanna do at this point. There's just something special about that car/chassis I can't get away from. What class or event type does he do?

Yeah the Camaro 1LE is a LOT of bang for the buck. We got a guy in my club that’s doing TT in a ZL1 1LE and just crushing it. He’s putting a cage in it and going to be doing W2W soon. I think they’re below $50K used now?

blackey: their’s not a ton of NP01s around. Usually just a few, but it can run as an ST2 car so you can race anyone in that realm. I definitely like the close racing in GTS3, so it would be a tough call.

I was looking yesterday and the regular SS 1LE is right around $30k now and the ZLE's are getting close to $50k. Both are fantastic deals, but I'm leaning towards the much more affordable SS1LE.

Oh gosh.... there was a c5z one paddock spot over from me at the last event and the owner was indeed on his back fighting with the rear subframe due to servicing the clutch before the next spec corvette race

I thought it was just bad luck but I guess that’s really how it it ?!?!

Thanks for the perspective. I guess there’s a reason why a sorted, class winning car is selling in the realm of spec Miata pricing

PrimeBMW I was thinking for w2w / enduro. replacement for my SM for when I get to the point that I’ve figured out the current car and am staring down the need to buy $8k motors to progress further

Nothing like a "sports" car with fixed -1.4 camber in my case.

Nicknaz, yes that would be great if you don't mind sharing your AIM data (perhaps via video overlay?). I run MDM for the first session or two, then off for the rest of the day as temps and comfort level increase.
Hi, sorry for the delay. I couldn't get the AIM data files to be accepted by the forums due to file size issues.

I exported the GPSspeed and lat and long G forces into a .csv file. Hope this is useful to you. I suggest comparing the corner entry and exist speeds to start. If you have the AIM Race studio software yourself, please PM me and we can share the AIM data in another way so you can get the GPS data file also

I want to be really transparent that this 2:20 lap is really weak (2:08 is a mid pack SM time for the thill 3mi with bypass configuration..but I did not get permission to share that competitor's data on a public forum) but I thought maybe it could help you since its 4s faster than the lap time you referenced in your F8x.

Some issues in this lap are that I overslowed significantly (~10mph) in some critical corners like entry to 2, 6 and 14.

A certain blue sunglassed pro driver I know turns sub 1:50's at PittRace with 200TW tires in his SS which has essentially been converted to a 1LE. Those cars are absolute monsters, if my wife would let me I'd have one of them haha.

Yup I've seen this videos on the Camaro6 forum. Dude absolutely flies! I do have a hard time comparing his modified automatic SS to the 1SS1LE and the M3 CS though.

Tomo is on a different level, but to say that's a SS converted to a 1le is not exactly accurate lol

What's the background on him? Outside of his videos on youtube I don't know much about him (didn't know he was a professional driver either).

Cheater SS is what I refer to it as lol. Not sure if it's a good benchmark for a mostly stock 1LE or CS but I like to keep it in the back of my mind for reference.

This might be a question better suited for the coding section, but anyway I was at the track on Saturday and at one point the track goes from a tight left into a S. Typically I exit the left hander in second around 4,500 rpm heading into the S. I had my car coded earlier this year with the GTS DCT. On Saturday I was having an issue where if I came into the S at anything less than 4,500rpm there was considerable bucking in the car to the point where I would have to upshift to resolve. Anything above 4,500 and the car was fine. I even had my instructor drive the car for several laps and he confirmed the same thing.
Has anyone else experienced this?
In all fairness I did have my driveshaft recall done recently, so I'm not sure if they perhaps could have updated something that erased the coding. It's the first time I've had this problem, so I'm not sure if it's related to any dealer updates, or if it might be a larger problem I need to investigate further. Other than that specific issue on track (and only in that particular section of the track) everything feels solid and great.

Grew up autoxing, started to dominate, now a days he hops in whatever car at Nationals, cars he hasn't driven till the day of and wins. He currently races for Honda now and is kicking ass. Very high level here, but the guy is extremely fast and super helpful. I was on course at Nats this year and watching him wheel an under prepped S2k was eye opening. You can simply notice the speed difference on course without being aware who is behind the wheel.

Tom is a super cool dude, has ok 4 square skills, and can drive like it's nobodies business. Hes a Honda Factory Driver and helped wheel a TypeR in Michelin Pilot Challenge TCR this last season to a 4th place finish (only 5pts out of second). He won TCA in 2018. I wouldn't be surprised to see him in a GTE car in 2020. He frequents a lot of Track Night In America and GridLife events so say Hi and try to get him to drive your car if you get a chance!

Hey so, I put down a $100 deposit for the 3 motor version of the Tesla armored personnel carrier / pickup thing.

Supposedly a better sports car than base 911 so if it isn’t vaporware I’ll post a vid in late 2022 of it towing my gas car to the track and then using the tow vehicle to do laps. Lol.

Was I the only one who naively thought that was just a shell that was gonna drop when it made it to the center of the stage?! Can't image what the board members thought/think of this...
