Sweet! How is it going to work...complete replacement insert, molded to sit on top?

Edit...I think it would be cool if the "S" were red.

It’ll be a complete replacement insert that is the identical size of the OEM badge. I’ll ask if he can make it red.

It is turning out better than I ever imagined it would. It’s costing a lot (..$900 for all of the custom work and the machining; it would be far less if it weren’t a one-off piece), but it’ll look OEM. A guy on RennList wants to order four; two with “4.0” and two with “4.5” for his projects. If he goes in it’ll save money because the batch will be larger.

The badge will have a black PVD coating to match the OEM piece and the “3.0 S” will be machined/polished to showcase the raw aluminum. It’s going to look clutch!

Finally drove an M8 because as the crook in Dirty Harry says, “I gots to know”. Everything said by others here was correct. Basically awful driving experience, the car is massive and not fun at all. I didn’t do an AWD launch, but at speed it didn’t feel much quicker than my CS. Was sort of surprising, expected more in the grunt force department.

No wonder these things depreciate 50% in three years hah.

I've become a big fan of the M50/M60i models. V8 cruisers.

M8 Cabrio is about the most pointless BMW besides the XM.

I came | | this close to buying a 2024 M3 6MT today. A local dealership has one with an $88,495 MSRP which they accidentally listed online for $83,055 - a price they agreed to honor after some back and forth. With BMW's military rebate and BMWCCA rebate my net cost would have been $80,055.

However, doing this would have meant giving up my 911. (The idea was sell the 991 now, drive an M3 for the next six months, and get my 992 in Zuffenhausen in September.) My wife talked me out of it: while I could probably drive a new M3 for six months for free (by reselling it for what I paid), the little costs (time and money) of flipping two cars will add up.

Secret plan B is to stack cash for the rest of the year and then get a 2025 CT5-V Blackwing next year - without having the sell the 992. Best of both worlds.

Yes, Porsche Marin gave me an allocation around Jan 1. Build locks April 22, production on June 6. PCNA's European Delivery Manager is arranging an exception to the typical 60 day storage limit so that I can do European Delivery in early September.

I'm so glad you're going to be able to do ED on a 911. What a once in a lifetime experience.

The color is beautiful as is the mystique of buying a brand new BMW M3...
unfortunately this is not a good-looking car

No way, doesn’t even have carbon buckets. Insta pass.

I recommend everyone to buy the car with the buckets if the price is right (even if you don’t like them). You can then easily swap standard seats with someone and pocket an additional $8-10k with little trouble. The CF seats/swap is hot and would get you into the car basically brand new for mid 70s.

Nice! Mine has the carbon buckets as well. You rarely see them so when mine popped up with them I had to jump on it.
