Car is immaculate, been fully PPF'd since new, still smells new, full maintenance history at BMW dealer.

$39,000

Fair or no?
Did you have to go to the store to get the appraisal done?

Yes - for covid they have you open everything, take pictures and look inside. They don't drive the car until you accept the offer.

It's a good offer. The market is in your favor only if you sell to a dealer.

Don't even bother private. Nobody has that money laying around and they still need financing.

I always tell people shop around dealers and sell it there. Instead of hanging on to a depreciating liability for 3-8 months to sell. Plus not dealing with tire kickers and wannabes.

Take the offer before it expires!

Carmax is so hassle free, with a decent offer and no bs, I'd take the check too. Private is a pain in the ass and often waste of time with tire kickers, hagglers, and flakers.

Maybe I should take it down to SD and try again when I'm ready lol. It may be a market adjustment thing.

whats ur color combo? they also take that into account. for instance much bigger market and easier to get rid of a white/black combo than say someone with the superman blue/red combo. everything could be the exact same otherwise and they would offer more to the white/black car than the other.

I bought my '15 M3 from CarMax for 39k, granted it's a stripper, had 49k miles, but given the markup they need to have to turn a profit I'd says that's a good offer and a guaranteed sale.

This is probably the most common color scheme I've seen on CarMax. I've been monitoring F80s on there for several years.

This thread made me curious so I went to CarMax today. 2018 M3 Comp DCT, Mineral White w/ SO, 23,600 miles. Zero damage/accidents. They offered $51K flat.

That's nuts. I think Covid shut down a bunch of auto auctions so dealers' inventory is drying up, especially high end makes/models hence the high appraisal values.

That’s also about $5k below MMR wholesale right now. Private is around $58k.

Anybody get a 2017 non-comp appraised recently? Not really in the market to sell, but I would consider if it was something I couldn't say no to.

They also told me if we weren’t so close to winter (“fewer people looking for sports cars”) the offer would have been a few thousand higher.

That's BS. On 10/12 a 2018 M3 with 41,100mi sold at Manheim Keystone Pa for $50,900. With your mileage the estimated adjusted MMR is $57,300.

Good to know so thank you. Without any background to justify my hope, I was hoping they’d offer $57K and I’d hand over the keys LOL. I’ve been bitten by the 718 GT4 bug. I have got to get off of bimmerpost. Most expensive habit I’ve ever acquired!
