29, no family, I ordered my M4 to progress away from a history of "boy racer" cars (history is below)
'94 Honda Civic - 16yo (only automatic car I ever owned, the rest are all MT) '96 VW GTI VR6 - 17yo '91 Nissan 300ZX - 19yo '06 Civic Si - 20yo '10 Subaru STI - 24yo '14 435xi - 28yo (big mistake here, should have waited for M4) '15 M4 - 29yo (arriving soon) The GTI, Si, and STI were all heavily modified but you would never be able to tell looking at them (no silly cosmetics, all engine/suspension/drivetrain) EDIT: I do think the M3/M4 can be made more "adult" depending on the color. For example YMB and AY are more towards the "boy racer" side of the scale than colors like MG/AW/MW/BS. I'm not saying YMB and AY are boy racer colors (please don't flame me!!!) just saying they are more attention grabbing. I absolutely LOVE AY, but I don't want the extra attention that comes with it (mainly from cops) Last edited by sh55; 09-05-2014 at 03:50 PM.. |

I know it's all in good fun, but more than likely you will probably not get run over by an M4 on the way home. However, you may get bumped to the side by those hips, haha.

Thats what I did when i was younger... used infiniti and GMC yukons carried me through. Even tho you I could afford a 80K car I didn't buy it, and glad I didn't! My advice to anyone in their 20's with limited responsibility is to save as much as you can now, it comes in handy later.

Why on earth would you give the slightest damn what anybody else thinks. Time to be yourself, and screw anyone who doesn't approve. You do realize that there will be some folks who won't approve of either ride, because who needs such power? Uh-oh, boy racer with either choice. |

Absolutely... As ol' Ricky Nelson once sang: "you can't please everyone so you gotta please yourself". I'm 65 so I remember this crap.

I'm 31 with M4. It is not boy racer at all.
Boys cannot afford these toys. Men can. M5 is a great vehicle but ask yourself if you really have a need for something that big now? I considered the M6 GC because it is probably the most beautiful car BMW has made for a long time but stayed away from it because of the size. Nothing wrong with the car it's just a personal thing. |

Get an M4
The M5 and M6 are TOO HEAVY, well over 4000 lbs. each. I'm 68, and have been retired for five years. I have an M4 on order, now scheduled for Week 36 production. It will be the replacement for my 2010 335i M-Sport.
