Why would downshifting cause a leaking rear main seal? Can you please explain your reasoning here? I've never heard of this. Downshifting isn't "fun and awesome", it's a necessary part of driving a manual transmission.

I'm frankly shocked that this thread is not more active and that more people have not tried this and reported back. What's the deal?
Any issues? Any fears? |

Now that all of the tuners have figured out how to enable rev match in all modes or remove it in all modes that is where most people are turning.

I don't think BM3 is there yet, as that is one big thing I am waiting for, and have not heard anything from them about it yet.

Are people still using this trick to code out auto rev match? I’m getting rid if my BM3 License and I would like the option to get rid of auto rev match.

Press start button once (do not depress clutch) Select Sport + Depress clutch and press start button to start the car Drive off and enjoy! Note: rev match will be now "off" in all modes. However, if you select sport or efficient too soon I find it occasionally begins to rev match again. If you stay in sport + for approx 20 mins from the start, it seems to hold the rev match "off" mode for the length of your drive even if you switch modes during the drive. Hope it works for you! |

FWIW that trick continues to work consistently for me. Yep it's not as convenient as being able to do it on the fly, but it's nice to have the rev match off in all modes (not otherwise possible without BM3 or similar)

Turn off it by bimmercode
Here you are a new setting by bimmercode for my 118D:
FEM / EXPERT MODE / 3020 Tc MASTER: TCM_STARTLOCK_BRAKE =>aktiv TCM_STARTLOCK_CLUTCH => nicht_aktiv TCM_STARTLOCK_DRIVINGREADINESS => nicht_aktiv You start engine with only one push of button and getting down bouth pedal (Brake + clutch) I confirm in this setting too a little increase in about 200 RPM when i stop the car and engaged every gear. You can code it all in NICHT AKTIV too but you have to push the strart button two times to start engine. |

Just get a BM3 tune, it will do the job, along with a lot of other things that are also great.
