I wish there is a master thread of different tunes, features of each tune, and price of each.

There are literally only 3-4 popular tunes and each one has its own dedicated thread on here with tons of information.

Since BM3 reps are pushing their product here, we might as well push ours.

Wouldn't it be easier if there is a sticky that list all the tunes available on the car, differences between each tune, and pricing of each?

We have a thread like that for springs. Not sure why we don't have one for tunes. Then we won't see new threads every week asking about which tune is better.

It's not really possible to do this without constantly updating the chart. The different tunes and platforms are constantly evolving and, with BM3 and I assume also OpenFlash, they are pretty wide open in that you can get custom tunes that can vary greatly from the basic canned tunes. Even the ones that are not really customizable by the end user, such as Alpine and BPM, can be customized fairly easily by the tuner based on the customer's preferences. Also pricing even with one single platform with BM3 can vary greatly depending on many factors and whether you choose to go with custom maps.

So, the problem is, you couldn't just have a basic chart listing the "differences" between each tune as the various combinations offered would be nearly infinite. Even if you could, who on these boards would be considered unbiased and trusted by all or a majority of people to post accurate info that is accepted by the various tuners?

I suggest you read up on the various main threads, figure out what you're trying to achieve, what you value, what options you are looking for in particular, and how much you want to be involved in messing around w/ your car, and that will dictate what product you should buy. Heck, even then, it's still not very clear. For example, with BM3, it can be something that you get very hands on with doing many things yourself, or you can go to a vendor like Auto Talent or EAS, drop your car off and have them do everything to get you set up with BM3. How would you quantify that in a basic chart?

OP - consider that a lot of people aren't able to compare tunes because they've only had one tune (ie. BM3 only or JB4 only) so it's similar to asking someone who's only shot 1 gun at a shooting range... which gun manufacturer is the best.

I'm waiting on a custom E85 tune via BM3 and will have dyno results soon, comparing it to Dinan.

Agreed. I'll be doing the same with e85 tune on BM3 versus my extensive previous experience with all maps on a JB4 with various fuel types.

the problem is most people dont know how all the inputs and outputs of an engine are used to produce an outdone within safe limits. they just want something that can 'plug and play' and have a cool display much less the dyno plot.

I want the open source solution that turns it into a stand alone ems with access to all the maps like the Cobb APC was for the N54. I wrote my own E30 map with a flat torque curve like an NA motor and it changed the whole dynamic of the car.

I'm not into the huge thrust at 3000rpm and taper off from there.

I had RaceChip, Enzo Flash in X3, JB4, then Bm3 in my last 2 cars.
Since I was one of the early adopters of BM3 in my previous cars I was wrecking all jb4 even fbo while I only had DP + Tune once I added FMIC to my X4 and OTS maps came out of beta all my friends dumped their jb4. End of story!
Now on my S55 didn't need to bother with nothing but the best 'BM3"
