Got my first track day in with the new setup. Everything went well. With the new suspension and tires there is am enormous amount of grip

Single turbo also worked great. Tune is still being dialed in and running a bit rich but pulled hard and sounded amazing. It makes a lot of noise with induction up front and equal length exhaust noises. Love it.

This was a pretty short track but picked up an extra 10 to 15 kmh vs stock turbo down the straight.

I am chasing some random misfires issues every once in a while. Car was happy all day on track but misfired under steady state driving down the highway. Going to swap in new plugs this week and maybe revert back to s55 coils if that doesn't clear it up.

Haven't had it on the dyno yet but it pulls very hard up top

Had a great day at the northern Alberta sports car club race class today. Lots of cool cars out with a great BMW turn out from e30 m3s to the f8xs.

I can now apply for my amateur racing license.

Picked my vs5rs' up from paint and mounted the extreme contact forces in 315 30 18.

I had my original rear 18x11 et 44s in satin bronze and 18*11 et25 fronts that were polished. Was hoping to get the new fronts painted or powder coated bronze to match but couldn't come up with a powder I liked.

I wanted to try and match BMW's frozen gold and I read some reviews that prismatic champagne gold was a close match. Had all 4 redone in it and it is definitely not a match. Wasn't what I expected at all. It still looks nice but it is really a silver with gold flake in it. It should contrast nicely with the mineral grey paint.

These will be my driving around town wheels and wet track days. Been driving the NT01s on the street but that won't fly once I mount the Hoosiers on my track wheels.

Looks nice in the sun...just not what I wanted. Powder shop didn't want to use this color but I decided to do it anyways.

Few things going on with the car.

Got the aim solo2 dl and smarty cam Corsa tapped into the canbus. Been testing out video. Mounted it with the aim track day mount. Lots of fun with the overlays. Should have some good video from playing with some gt and rs porches today.

Ran into problems with misfires a few weeks ago. Turned out the factory dual mass fly wheel shit the bed and was vibrating badly enough that it was reading as misfires. Replaced it with a clutch master fx850 race with ceramic disks and light weight single mass aluminum flywheel. Got it back just in time for my track day today. Break in was the drive from the shop to the track and a few easy sessions before fully laying into it. Performed great although it is really on off and will take some time getting used to when being driven around town.

I have been having some problems blowing black smoke / soot out of the exhaust. Have been having problems with leaks at the downpipe to turbo. Turned out the turbo manifold bolts had loosened and there was enough Play to suck some air in and run rich. Unused the stage 8 locking bolts so they couldn't move much but enough to cause issues. Got everything tightened up.

The mid pipe hangs a bit low the way I welded the hanger back on so i am going to redo the front mount and while I am at it the rear section. I picked up a gt more rear section on sale which will delete the muffler and mate up the 3.5 inch mid pipe with dual 3 inch to the rear. The way the 4n midpipe is setup I won't have to modify Mike's nicely welded parts, I will just replace a short section of 3.5 inch pipe the the reducer to dual 3 inches. Shouldn't be much work once I get a break from twice a week track days. I enjoy Tig welding so will have some fun. Should be easy to swap back and forth if I need to make noise restrictions. I run valves open on the mpe and don't trigger limits so hoping to still be good with the muffler delete.

Also going to install a MHD flex sensor and bend calibration fuel filter and try running some e. If ups hadn't lost my filter kit would have already picked up a drum of e98.

Tonight was my first full session without flywheel issues on the new nankang crs's and my initial impressions is they are great. I corded my NT01s in about 5 sessions so will see how they do.

Overall the car is running great and I am happy with how it's performing. I couldn't quit hang with the gt 3 and 4 rs's tonight but I set my PR's at rad torque running a lot of laps in the 1:29's and dipping into the 1:28s on a few. That 992 gt3rs was about 2 seconds faster.

Also picked up a quick jack. Been eye balling them for a while. Way easier than getting it up with the regular jack onto stands.

Really cool build! Do you have any dyno numbers on it?

I'm thinking about getting a F80 and do a single turbo build, but I'm not sure if i should go top mount or bottom mount.

Picked up a new garage mate for the f80...a f90 lci competition in marina bay blue with Silverstone interior. F80 is pure toy, this will be my new daily.

Will get a better comparison after some time but I think this pulls harder than my f80 off the line. Unlike the f80 it's almost silent and there is no sense of how fast you are going.

Promised my wife I wouldn't mod this but I think it will need an exhaust and mp has, maybe intakes. It's a 2021 but has extended warranty until 2028 so won't be tuning it for a while. I am pretty comfortable on the s55 but I am not keen on getting into the s63.

The S63 is a wonderful engine. We have it in the X5 M as a tow vehicle.

Test drove an M5c last weekend and was thinking of getting one. Then we'd have 4 M V8s at home!

It's very comfortable...pretty much the opposite of the m3. It's nice to be able to have a conversation without almost yelling at the passenger.

I love the rowdy, fun, agile nature of the f80 but this will be nice to cruise in.

Been a few weeks of challenges with the f80. Had the crank pulley bolts back out and the wobbling pulley mangled the surface of the hub to the point it needed to be replaced. Ordered the Vargas puller tool and the ssr 4 pin hub. Everything is now back together and running great. I was running a key bolt capture plate and am now firmly in the camp that it causes more harm than good. Sticking to stock bolts with red locktite now for the pulley.

Just needs a wash and some cruising this weekend then will hit the track on Monday night. It's filthy and looks gross but back in the garage with its new big brother the f90 M5. Garage is a bit tight but will get the M5 repositioned to make it more manageable.

Need to install my bend fuel filter this week and pick up a few e85 drums and will hopefully hit the dyno soon to see what it is putting down.

Track night with @uncleben .

There was also a g80 out and was pleased that the f80 was significantly faster, in addition to the much better looks 😉

Got my bend flex fuel filter installed. Super easy. There are a few videos online detailing the process.

Corded the crs's at the track today. Knew they were close so kept a close eye on them. Really liked these tires. They took a lot of abuse and kept going. I think this was 4 full days on them. We're really fast day 2 and 3 and slowed down a bit today. Still was quick in the 1.29s at rad torque but it was 30degrees out and getting greasy.

Supposed to be out again on Monday so grabbed the Hoosier r7s I bought earlier in the year and got them mounted. Question with these is more rear camber or roll the fenders? Will jack it up and check clearances tomorrow but the rear is tight. Already at 1.8 degrees negative.

These will now be track only and all other driving will be on my apex wheels with con't ecf's.

Tested out the r7s on track on Monday

This is a really short track but knocked a second off my previous best into mid 1:05. Some fun cars out like the M2 comp and the gt3 cup car, a GTR and the usual brz's and 86's.

Was worried about the tires hitting the rear fenders because they are quite a bit wider than the NT01s and crs' I have run previously but there was no issue. This track has a bumpy section through the back end where it would be a big test but even there I wasn't getting alot of movement with the 800 lbs coilover springs. Certainly noticed the extra grip on braking and needed an extra cool down lap or two to keep the brakes from smoking when I came in.

are those wheels the 11" ET36? They should be much more tucked in

yes. The Hoosier 315 is much wider than the Nitto, Nankang or ECF 315's I have used prior. Rear camber is at -2. Tire wear is good at -2. For a car that gets driven to the track how much more can I add in?

I was also happy at -2 camber on my prior track M3s, but on GTS1 (which also gets driven to the track, did 1000 miles each way last year to visit Road America) we currently run GTMore specs, which have much more camber.

The car isn't at home so I can't take a pic of the rear wheel, but we also have that wheel with the same 315 Hoosier and it fits much better, so I take it we have the arms putting the wheel more 'in' and also more camber.

For the short term, if it isn't rubbing then don't worry about it!
