Front Brake Pad Sensor

Hey folks. I have a 2015 base M4 and the CBS system just notified me I need new front pads. I had the pads (ceramic OEM pads) replaced around 6,500 miles ago in Aug of 2020 along with floating the hubs. The car is currently at 52k miles. This is not my daily and I don't track it or drive it hard to be honest. I'm taking it to the shop that did the replacement tomorrow. Could it be a bad sensor? Here is a picture of the service they provided. Thanks for your help!

Could be a bad sensor. Best thing to do is to actually check the width of the brake pad. You can actually see it by just looking into the caliper.

It doesn't look like they actually replaced the wear sensors based on the parts charged. As N1rve mentioned, it could be a bad sensor. I recently replaced the pads on my F80 and was able to reuse the sensors. On my wifes F48 however I was unable to save the rear sensor as it was worn down way too much and the housing crumbled when I went to pull it off the pad. Luckily it didn't break the copper and I was able to tape it up and zip tie while I wait for a new replacement to show up.

For those who want a good laugh, the local dealer wanted 1,000$ to replace the rear pads and rotors on our F48 and 625$ just for pads (which doesn't make any sense to me). They also wanted 425$ for sparks plugs (it's a 4-banger!).

I can only imagine what they would want for pads on the F80!
