This thread was very helpful when I endured the nightmare of spinning square nut on both outside locations so not accessible at all!

I had all the tools per various guides but as I moved to Stuttgart I didn’t have a collection of pliers so low and behold I had to the nearest hotel and beg them to check maintenance room.

Thankfully the long nose pliers did the trick on right hand side but Jesus the left side was just seized! Over torqued and locktite on it!

I was seconds away from drilling out the bolt as I was at it for two hours then I thought I’d try to wiggle in a 10 mm spanner by wiggling the head light myself and it just about got it.

The sound of the bolt cracking free was like winning the lotto!

With the old rhd head lights free I swapped over modules to new LHD ones and hence no coding required. All worked fine.

Lining up panel gap was a bit trial and error as it was depending on the position of the headlight so loosened the bolts off and then tightened once gaps were ok.
€2500 on new headlights all because of beam pattern!

G series can change front rhd to LHD in idrive!

Anyhow all set now to get TUV and then register it in Germany.

Note I had to hack off the side part of the mounting point in order to get 10mm spanner in. I’ll be able to dremel it smooth and then sell them
