MPE muffler can splitting on sides?

Hey man... can you give me the contact of your welder? Im in Socal. I had mine repaired/welded before too... but it cracked again after a year. I cant get a hold of my original welder.

So here is my update. I was able to get the dealer to replace the exhaust under warranty. Car has been at dealer for a month now waiting for the parts. They now tell me it will be mid July before it comes in. They told me they are re manufacturing the exhaust and that is the reason for the delay. Not sure exactly what that means but I'll continue waiting.

Why don’t they give you back the car while they are waiting? It’s not like it’s not drivable. My dealer just called me when my replacement came in. I’m interested in seeing if you got a redesigned one.

I live 4.5 hours away don't really want to put the miles on it so I left it there. They didn't think it would take that long.

so I got a crack on mine too (ugh). SA just called me and said that the mufflers are backordered and have to be shipped from Germany. It may take up to a week to get mine in. I asked him if he (or any other supplier) didn't have any in stock and he said he wasn't allowed to use one for warranty service.

is this standard operating procedure for warranty or is there a slightly updated version coming out?

EDIT: never mind. just saw the post above mine. so it's not just me. hopefully they are updated versions and arrive very soon. it's already been two days with the X1 and I'm hating my life already.

Mine had to be shipped from Germany as well. I was stuck in some base model for awhile then asked for a 440i GC. Much better.

This was months ago. It looks the same to me, but who knows. It's working for now!

Can you update us on the part number of the exhaust? Is it possible for you to scan the receipt or PM me the part number of the exhaust? Would love to confirm if it is a revised exhaust as I am on the fence waiting on the MPE.

Can you also take a pic of the side with all the info where the crack was. I'm curious to see if there is a difference.

Also did they tell you if the replacement exhaust comes with a warranty.

Annoyingly enough, there is no part number on my invoice. I see that it was ordered and replaced, but part number is blank. Maybe because it was covered under warranty it's not listed? Not really sure.
