from what i have read the eBay one is built better, sticks less, and has a firmer stop feel. i never owned the BMS one, so can't comment on actual differences.

Alright, I’ll bite. I’ve never heard of a clutch stop before this thread, and now I’m intrigued. $10? Sounds good to me.

I bought a clutch stop for my F80. Never used one on any of my previous manuals. (Driven nothing but stick shifts my whole adult life, other than when my wife makes me drive her cars)

But I found that the clutch engagement was way too high with a lot of dead space at the bottom. This disrupted my rhythm while shifting, especially in Sport Or Sport+ mode.

The clutch stop helped a lot in my opinion, but I'll admit that the shift between modes still messes with my throttle/clutch foot rhythm a little bit....

I am about to pull the trigger on an M3 and wondered why BMW keeps making clutch engagement so high in their manuals? I currently have a 2002 330i Manual and just drove the new M3 last week and same thing, high clutch engagement, needless to say, I have a clutch stopper on my 330i and it sounds like I will be buying one for my new M3. I know stoppers are not a big deal to install, but I am intrigued by all the dead space when engaging the clutch.

For horrible drivers. Same reason the revs drop so slowly between changing gears. I'm literally bored waiting for the revs to drop during the 1-2 shift.

Burger version $10. Not a big deal but I like the shorter clutch travel. I always brought my foot all the way down so for me, it was worth the measly $10.

For $10 I’d be willing to try it. Not much to lose...

Does the auto rev-match still work with this peddle?

I have the UCP and it's worth it. Totally changes the feel/stop of the clutch pedal.

Did it yesterday. Amazing mod. If you have any doubts, its worth a shot. I'm 35 and have been driving stick since I was 17. This is a game changer for a car with so much dead space past clutch engagement.

BMS. There still is dead space on mine though, but it's less than stock. If I really wanted to reduce it more I could just go buy more washers.

Is this really worth it? Can't say I have issues with my 6MT shifting. Might be a must mod if so to add to my list of goodies to install this spring.

I tried the BMS clutch stop, but I didn't really like the feel when I kick the pedal in. Shifting much feels better without it.

When I drive my 6MT it feels like the only dead space is at the top of the clutch not the bottom. Is this mod to stop the amount of travel or is it for the satisfying feeling of pressing the clutch pedal into something?

It is to stop the dead space at the bottom, between the floor and the grab point of the clutch. So with the clutch fully depressed, you will only need to lift your foot a short distance until the clutch grabs if you use a clutch stop.
