F81 M3 Crushed by Police due to Stolen Parts
https://twitter.com/WMPolice/status/...567216640?s=20
Note to self… don’t buy stolen parts for a F81 build Having said that, it’s still tough to watch it meet its end… could have auctioned it for a good cause or something

Their justifications baffle me. Does anyone buy this shit? It’s got stolen parts so it’s dangerous for other roadway users… ok.
Another Java example crushed, though this was clearly not manufactured in Java. |

No mention of the owner either; could have been he was sold parts in good faith on his end or could have been he acquired those nefariously

Just vexes me. They strongly encourage you to only buy from a reputable dealer… so everyone must keep their cars forever lest you become a shady seller yourself? Or, according to them, alternatively you must know how to discover when looking to buy a car if it has stolen bits… say the wheels were hot. What’s your indicator there chief?

Silly. They prob drive rotten pickups; non car enthusiasts. They should’ve converted it to a police car. That would’ve been a better message to send to the community. Prob already has the crankhub done :-)

I felt sorry to see a nice car destroyed but my guess is, they don't want a positive image out of a shady product, because that would encourage shady activities.

The UK doesn’t mess around when it comes to cars. Watch several well-known UK police programs on YouTube and you’ll see that dodgy cars get a lot of attention. Usually it’s for things like failed MOT, no insurance, or bad driving. In this case, the owner brought attention to him/herself because of a number plate discrepancy. Looking further, the car was found to have parts taken from two stolen M3s.
BMWs are some of the most often stolen cars in the UK and punishing those who profit from thefts (even if indirectly), can help reduce crime. Put yourself in the shoes of the people whose cars were stolen to make this F81, and then decide if you still have remorse for the owner. Hopefully the police asked the owner where he/she got the parts so the cops can attack the source. |

If he was linked to the theft of the cars then crush away, but imagine being this poor guy, saves up money, buys parts on eBay and car forums. I know that whenever I buy parts I never check to see if they are stolen. How can you? The cops in the UK for the most part are bully’s who aren’t focused on keeping people safe. They are just tax collectors arresting people for mean tweets and wrong think.

the way they made it sound was that the frame was cut in half. like maybe the front of an F8x with the rear of the station.

Playing devil's advocate here, but on Twitter, the police didn't cite 'stolen parts'; they focused on the fact that the frame was 'poorly' welded together (both by their inspector and an independent one). If it were truly a chop and weld op from a wagon rear and an M3 front end, I could see why it could be a hazard.

The rules lawyer, why do rusted-out boxes bother you?) And hey Justin, I have done some recent research about police brutality, and I have to say that it is an important problem in modern society. I found free essay samples with more info on the causes of such behavior. So, I am about https://eduzaurus.com/free-essay-samples/police-brutality/ where I also discovered some solutions to police oppression and discrimination. It is easier to find reasons when analyzing justice and history. So, check the source. Maybe it will give you some helpful pieces of information.

They are dangerous. Some of them are to the point where they aren't structurally sound anymore. Even if they aren't that bad yet, blown shocks, sketchy brakes, etc abound on those cars. When they can turn or stop to avoid an accident, its not only themselves they might kill or injure.
