Im back...M3 to M4
Well I guess I am back! Had a 2015 M3 which I had as my daily driver from 2015 thru 2017 and loved that car...only sold it to get an SUV as I was being moved to Nebraska and felt I needed something with AWD to get through the snow. So turned it in on lease and headed to NE in a 2014 Range Rover Sport SC. Nice vehicle but no M3. Sold all my mods and have had a few cars since to include my daily driver a 2019 RS5 Sportback [which I just sold] but something about having an M car...so I guess I am back.
Pickup my [new to me 2016 M4 coupe next weekend and then get to drive it for a while before shipping it home. Found it in the color combo I wanted..Shakir Orange/Black which is also what I wanted for my previous M3 but dealer didn't have any in stock...so now as this is my 2nd weekend car/daily drive I went looking for color I wanted. Car has 55k on it and all service records and recent service plus clean CarFax. Also has a Remus exhaust on it I am told. My previous M3 had an Eissenman Race so not sure how the two compare. Any thoughts? Anyway glad to be back but since I've been gone since 2017 almost 4 yrs please help a guy out in what I've missed on the forums and for mods and anything else I should know. This is my 4th M-car (2003 M3, 2008 M3, 2015 M3) and I've done the M school at the factory a few times so the brand is new but I know how things change so looking forward to hearing from you guys and being back on the forum!

Curious about your RS5. Did you like it?

Yes I loved my RS5...was a 2019 and car had tons of tech and as a SportBack model was what I would have wanted IF they had made an M3 Grand Coupe style vehicle. The SB coupe layout gives you the size and convenience of a sedan and also equals the coupe RS5 cars in times but the hatch gives you such versatility to cary objects of any size. I've had 4 tires in that thing and whole items from my storage unit when emptying it. Something you just can't get into a trunk and often need an SUV or wagon or pickup to do. So it was great. AWD huge plus also! RS5 was fast also with tons of torque too. Biggest difference between Audi and BMW in their RS models is the RS are a bit sublime and unique...never saw another RS5 SB on the road yet know they exist while BMW M cars are a bit more prevalent. Still great car and only sold it to make room for new EV next year. Also in current market pocketed difference allowed me to more easily get back into a nice used M4 given depreciation curve and current market where many are trying to move to the new G80 2022 M cars.
Yes got it this weekend from dealer and car was what it was promised and pictured...below. Given it was bought sight unseen and from non-BMW dealer had to do quite a bit of additional diligence on it...but it does help to be very familiar with the brand and to know what to look for as well in person and with a CarFax also. Fact that it had just been serviced by BMW within last 6 mos helped as I got to see those records too. Car has some mods already that I would have done so that is great including exhaust set up (Remus) but may upgrade that to an Akrapovic which is my preferred option. Wheels okay as are OEMs but may upgrade back to HRE's like my previous 2015 F80 M3. Drive to current location where I am on temp duty till end of month was great. 800+ miles and no issues and drove as I remembered. Biggest problem? Radar detector suction cup kept falling off the window and my unfamiliarity with I-Drive after 4 yrs without daily integration! Otherwise thoroughly enjoyed it and happy to re-home this baby. A few pics attached. Enjoy and the moderate Mods begin soon.
