Carfax Spark Plug Gap Adjusted or Actually Replaced?

Hi about to take delivery of a 2015 M4 with 2 previous owners, the car was CPOed after the first owner, and Carfax shows "Spark plugs cleaned and gap adjusted", but I heard that they usually just replace them instead of adjusting the gaps, so is it true?
I tend to believe it's true because the CPO was at 31k miles which is right around the 30k miles spark plug replace interval, but I still wanna make sure.
Besides, if it's actually just gaps adjusted, is it safe for me to continue to use them? The car is only at 35k miles now, yes less than 4000 miles in 4 years with the second owner..... so I suppose they are still alright?

I can confirm my carfax said the same thing and the servicing dealer did replace the plugs.

I believe if you buy the bmw oem sparks plug. It comes pre gapped. Meaning you don't have to adjust it.

Thank you guys so much! Did you find out by asking a dealer to pull out history service records? or you requested spark plugs replacement and later found out they say gap adjusted in the Carfax?

My 16 f82 carfax said the same and it was around the same milage. I was wondering the same as you and they did a key read and they were indeed replaced. NOT cleaned & re gapped.

really weird carfax says that.

I just had my spark plugs replaced and the CarFax says the same thing. Not sure why it gets reported that way as it seems dumb.

Yeah it’s pretty dumb but it’s good to know that it actually means replaced, thank you!

Seems like this is pretty common. I wonder if the BMW dealers do this to get a little more warranty work out of these cars. Definitely tacking on a few hours of labor isn't unheard of...but mine had this service at 14K miles.
