So I entered into this platform much in the same way that I'm sure many others have: with the thought that the car is "fine just the way it is". ZCP and Executive packages, CF roof, Parking Assist, Heated Steering, Golden Brown Extended Leather...what more could I want right?

Oh the bliss of naivety.

It didn't take long until I was Stage 1 BM3 with a few cosmetic odds and ends here and there. Moving up to Stage 1 from stock was exhilarating, which if I'm being completely honest was my first mistake. Pretty soon I was researching downpipes and exhaust systems, and quickly thereafter upped the ante to Stage 2. Which is where I once again mused to myself: "this is fine".

Can anyone take a guess as to how long "this is fine" lasted for?

I've never gone full send on a car build before, but my inner caveman was telling me to take my car from the "rousing knock on the front door which wakes you from slumber to announce its presence" level, to one more along the lines of "tearing the door off its hinges, ripping you out of your chair, and calling you a little bitch."

And so here we are.

Nice car. Love the color combo.
Not sure if you forget to update your pics or the mod list but you have a 3D design or replica rear diffuser and not a M performance diffuser. Same goes for interior.

How are you liking those B6 shocks with your V1 springs? Did it raise the car as much as people say?

Good catch. In the interest of full disclosure, the aero components were installed by the previous owner and I assumed incorrectly that the diffuser and side skirts were OEM. The original post has been updated.

Interior wise, that is an older photo actually, I just haven't had much time lately to really take some updated shots. I really should though, lol

I'm really liking the B6's combined with the V1 Eibachs, the damping effect is definitely more noticeable and it's amazing how much better they seem to absorb the road.

From a stance standpoint, it does raise your car by a few millimeters most likely due to the higher compression rates of the shocks. I wasn't overly concerned about aesthetics as much as I was handling and drivability characteristics, but it's nice that the combo provides a mild drop as opposed to going all 4x4.

Great read. We’ve all been there saying that the car is fine as it is. That was one way I convinced my wife that I could get the F80. Told her during the search process that the car stock was MORE THAN sufficient with what I needed and that I would never mod again.

2 years later, I wrapped it and pretty much nothing is stock. Haha

Now I’ll starting to do the same thing by telling my wife how a Porsche is the end all and be all of sports cars and that I’ll never need to modifying it as it’s a pure sports car. Her eye roll was so massive....

Makes me feel better, going full send as well lol. No plans on meth injection? I went all JB4 tuning and meth. JB4 has been flawless so far, still waiting to do my crank hub before I throw the Meth in. AEM explains it well.

I considered meth injection, but ultimately decided to go a different route with just upgraded HPFP's and e85. Nothing against spraying, but short of increased maintenance intervals I'm just looking for more a "set-it and forget-it" type of build.

Understandable, my build was steered by the GTS

I'm not entirely sure where the previous owner purchased the rear diffuser, but for all intents and purposes it looks like a 3D Design replica.
Fitment wise it's on point.

I did find one similar on eBay however:

Amazing car. I really like the interior/exterior color combo!

I have the same tinted dark RF wheels only in 20" on my car. I'm continually amazed how different they look in various lighting situations.

I was planning on doing BM Stage 1 in the spring so I appreciate the reality check on what I'm really in for.

Very nice; I like it.

Ignorant question... so what's different on the ID6 touch retrofit?

I thought all 18's were touch.

Yup, just like bsmf8x stated, the F80's after 2018 had touch screen, but the F82's didn't. I ended up sourcing a touch screen and having it remotely coded in for functionality.

I thought about that after the fact actually, lol. It's suppose to be a play on M4 Forged, but who doesn't like an M4 orgy?
