edit: sorry commented without watching it. these are pretty easily removed with scratchX, without using heat. but seems like an idea to use heat if that doesn't work well
Similar idea but milder, would be to use Meguiar's Cleaner Wax.

But there's sometimes quite a bit of elbow grease needed, and the WD40, heat, or other methods could be better

Hey guys, will be going to Laguna Seca soon in the novice group. I'm wondering if I should change my tires before the event. Rears are roughly 4/32nds maybe less

Not yet for Streets, it’s next. Working on all SoCal tracks, it’s both fun and really challenging getting to know a new circuit (for me).

There’s a whole lot of “depends“, are you running stock brake pads? How many track days do you have? If you’re running the novice group, you will probably be OK and a good chance to destroy the tires as they’re getting down to the finale anyway.

Which group are you going with? Planning to head back up there in May - home track.

Bought these wheels with TPMS, so had them balanced. drove like a luxury car to the track, not so much on the way home. Lots of rotation in one day.

Anyone try anti-slip knurled wheels? If they were dedicated track wheels, wouldn’t care and wouldn’t balance, but drive these to and from the track regularly.

Not really cool to post pics of someone else's wrecked car at the track . Goes against track etiquette.

Well, to start, you tire shop should know better (most shops don't ). The yellow dot on the tire should be lined up with the valve step upon install.

Do you just deal with the rotation on your track wheel/tire set up?

All my current wheels have the knurling although i haven't noticed that in my old wheels - haven't ever checked either

Noticed all of Bimmerworld wheels have antislip knurling, even flowformed. More business headed their way. Still can’t believe that much rotation in one day and most probably don’t care with dedicated track wheels.

Also, went -3.4 camber in front and was pleasantly surprised by road manners. As expected, front tire wear and temps look perfect at first track day. Was planning on changing camber for street, but so far, so good with this -3.4. Maybe street wear will force changing, but will see (0 toe).

Stuck at -1.8 in the rear until I get toe arms, don’t want to sacrifice toe in. Thought this might be an issue with the variance front to rear, but the car felt really balanced.

Haha get in line, I have six sets of BW wheels!

What eats tires is toe, much more than camber. You can get away with surprising amounts of camber

I will prefer moving camber (and the toe change implicit with camber changes) right at the track. Zero front toe isn't going to give you what you need.

And with how wonderfully easy it is to change camber in this car you can get a single alignment, mark the plates and then swap back and forth yourself

Should be ok.

Just watch for the front outer shoulder of the tires if you don’t have camber plates

“Zero front toe isn’t going to give you what you need” - take it you run significant toe out at track (front)?
