BMW Driver's School vs M School?

Anyone have experience with both the Driver's School and the M School? Or can at least comment on how intense the M School is? I called the BMW Performance Driving Center and the lady told me they're basically the same drills except M school is in M cars. The descriptions on the website makes it sound like that is not the case.

I'm looking to do the M school with my wife but want to make sure it's not going to be over her head and have her overwhelmed. She's never pushed a car to it's limits before and we both want this to be a fun learning experience. There's a few days where the Driver's school is the day before M so we could at least line up the schedules. Would love to be in the class with her though and drive the M cars so she can feel more comfortable in our F80. Definitely leaning toward M School.

I love this as an idea for a couple. While I can offer no help to your question, I hope you and your wife have a lot of fun with whatever option you choose.

Since you have a F80, I would go with the M school. Nobody is going to force your wife to do anything that will overwhelm her. I wouldn't worry too much. Go and enjoy it, I'm sure you both will love it.

Just got back from M school a few weeks back. I'm sure the only difference between is 2 will be the vehicles available for you to drive. Although the driving sessions will be similar you'd be in M cars and obviously they can be pushed harder. They teach some good info that would probably make her a better driver all around, but M school is overkill in my opinion based on the limited info you provided.

I did the M school a few years back, it ended up being what convinced me to get a F80. You can push as hard as you want or be a bit more reserved, either way you will both learn so much about the cars capabilities.

M School all the way. I've done the 1 and the 2 day M School and that's what got me into HPDE's aka Track Days and Time Attacks. So much fun. Don't worry about your wife, they won't push her farther than she can handle. I think you will be surprised how far that limit can and will get after M School though! Highly recommended, especially if someone has never really gotten formal lessons in high performance driving.

Just completed the 2-day M School (11/20). It had students of all ages and abilities. You’ll both have a great time!
