You read my mind. It’s almost like a “just in case” approach. I’ll be the first to SMH at myself if a GT3 allocation comes up sooner than expected and I have to liquidate some of these mods. The good thing is the LWB seats retain their value at/nearly at 100%, so I will almost certainly get all of my money back if I ever chose to sell them. Mine are 992 LWB’s and I’ve seen 991 or 918 LWB’s sell for about the same price or very close to it.

Mint is such a cool color. I remember when I first saw that color in person at BMW of Riverside. I could see hot mod potential written all over that color. Sorry to hear about the windstorm. They are brutal.

Tore the rear apart in about 20 minutes in order to get the base ready for the AeroKit. The wing has been painted by one of Porsche’s certified repair/paint centers (….Caliber Collision, the shop that also painted my AeroKit front lip) and is ready for pick up. I won’t be back in California until Wednesday morning though, so I won’t be able to finish this project until Sunday.

I sold my OEM non-AeroKit car cover on RennList and simultaneously purchased a brand new OEM AeroKit car cover on RennList.

The car is looking fantastic - loving the spec!

debating on getting one now. but will probably wait to see what the 2025 x3 refresh brings.
Personally a big fan of the G01/2 platform, and for me the next best thing outside of a 3er Touring (boy would I love an M340i Touring or better yet, an Alpina). Sounds fantastic, and I saw 32 MPG on the way to Charleston.

I literally had no complaints about my old G01 M40i LCI apart from the sound system as you said, but also the seats. Feels OK in the beginning, but once you sit in a G05, you get spoiled.

No thank you.
Strange, I had a B58 and S55 (in an M2C and M4 GTS) and I certainly didn't think it had mega lag. I think the B58 is truly one of the best DD engines out there.

Thanks brotha! This has turned into one hell of a project. If you had asked me in April of 2022 if I planned to mod, the answer would’ve been a resounding “No”. I have since dove in head first with an anvil in my hands.

Agreed! I didn’t think the S55 was laggy at all. It was a very responsive motor.

Heard the Z06 in person by chance today on my jog. Sounds good on the outside, stock too from what I can tell.

Edit: Oh and the S55 vs B58 thing. S55 definitely had turbo lag but most don't really notice it because the turbo lag gets hidden by the amount of torque the S55 gives out extremely early on. By the time the turbo lag comes, you wouldn't notice it nearly as much. B58, in the times I have driven it, the torque comes on later and much more controlled. That exaggerates the turbo lag for some of us if we have had experience with the N55/S55.

S55 is a torque monster, that engine is known for it. I mean, the torque came on so early in the first few years that BMW released a few firmware versions to pull that back. By the time your butt dyno gotten over the torque pulling you around, the engine would have gotten past the turbo lag. Duno if that was intended by BMW M engineers or it just happened to come out that way.

Interesting concept of electric car simulating ice in all performance feedback categories including noise, transmission jolt and gear shifting. All the criticisms electric fans were using to criticize ice. They are now mimicking it . Faking the driver senses is the new norm

That actually looks really cool. Traditional ICE cars are tuned all the time for sound, feel, feedback etc. Looks like they are applying the same principles here.

i think once they can give you different fake powertrain options it may convert alot of people

you can set the powertrain and sound to '2jz' one day and '458 italia' the next. the redline, sound, torque curve, and gear ratios would all match up.

its basically like driving gran turismo with a sim rig.

Honestly, the concept of being able to play around with different feels and sounds like you're playing Gran Turismo is super cool and unironically makes me excited to see what's coming. Of course it's not the same as how cars are and will never match that feel, but that doesn't mean it can't be fun in its own way.

FWIW, and that may not be much, the car has received rave reviews by many outlets. It would be nice if they added it to the C&D Lightning Lap 2025 to see what it can do at VIR. I had a deposit on one and then decided it against it. It leases terribly (for now), and I would, under no circumstances purchase this car.

A friend of mine is picking one up tonight. I'll be driving it next weekend, very much looking forward to it based on reviews. I'll let you guys know whether it lives up to the hype.

I am curious about how it performs on track, it genuinely seems like it would kill it.

On a side note, one big roadblock for me to adopt EV's for now is that New Jersey is oddly a pretty unfriendly state with EV's on the track (Raceway park claims it's a NJ State Police thing, NJMP has a bunch of other concerns brought up amongst that) which for me is a buzzkill for the time being. So much for a state that's behind the 2035 initiative

It’s kind of like the lesbians who want their female partners to use a strap-on and emulate sex with a man. I just don’t get it.

Still undecided on the looks, sometimes I love it as it gives me 80s Audi Quattro vibes and then other times I’m not sure. Their standard N paint job doesn’t help IMO. I would like to drive one someday though.

I’m guessing they are worried about not being able to put the battery fire out and possible damage from letting it burn out on its own, plus the added heat from the fire temp. I could be wrong but I think they burn hotter than ICE car fires, again, I definitely could be wrong on that.

That's 100% a concern no doubt, I just hope it's something that it's something the State and the local tracks can figure out a solution much like other tracks have, especially as this will become more of a demand down the road
