CS Owners - Whats your tune?
Going from my base 2016 M3 with VF tune to now a 2018 CS, the car drives soooo much better. I want to tune but have hesitancy due to how nice the car drives. I would like to get more power out of the car but...
Those of you with a CS, what tune are you running and why? Thanks everyone!

No tune for me! I installed the lowering springs and an M4 GTS exhaust and love it! Those are the only two parts needed and should of came with the CS!

No tune for my CS and i road course the car as much as possible. I even did the crank hub for preventative mantainace. The power band is perfect in the CS variants. If anything do the secondary cats; they restrict the power are fair amount. I had VF on the 16F80. Not interested in doing that again.

Do you really need the extra power? Sounds like you're enjoying the car more despite the lower power, maybe you're starting to see HP isn't the only thing that matters
Personally if I ever 'tune' my base M4, it'll just be flashing the CS tune. |

I will echoe what others have said, the M4cs is a bloody good car as it stands. I only did MP-HAS with camber plates on mine. It had sufficient power stock to keep me satisfied.

Yep, stock level powers for me too. The powerband, especially the mid-range TQ, is enough to keep things fun without overwhelming the rear end grip.
And I came from a car that was quicker in the straightline. This car traps 121-122mph in some tests, plenty for me. |

No tune on mine.
I did see a tune on a CS from ESS where they kept the torque alone until like 5k rpm, then raised power from 5 to 7k. Basically looks like a GTS power curve. I'm not going to tune, but if I were, for sure it would be that tune |

No tune on my M3 CS, gotta keep it pure. It wouldn't feel right tuning a car/ecu that is so dialed in - with a great power band. Virgin, ftmfw bb!
I did add... M Performance HAS with Ground Control Camber Plates along with a good alignment, Single Midpipe, and a Remus Muffler. I have a set of RK Carbon Front Mount Intakes and ARM Resonated DPs but not sure I want to install those, at least not yet. Also, added a set of lightweight wheels, 19" BBS FI-R with stickier tires R888R, to help finish off my build. Only thing the F8x CS really needs is a good set of pads or a BBK/2NH. I opted for 2NH to keep things OEM with GK Pads and Spiegler lines. |

How are you liking your aftermarket exhaust setup? I'm waiting on my Remus/AA-single to get shipped. Had the same combo on my ZCP and enjoyed it. I'm hoping it's boomier with the reduced sound deadening in the F82 CS + no fake speaker noise.

Hard to top the sound produced from the Single MP/Remus combo. It sings wonderfully. I don't even have a desire to add DPs, at least yet, because it sounds so damn good. + it keeps the sound character of the s55 engine, with minimal to no rasp unless your engine and pipes aren't warmed up. When in efficient with valves closed it's perfectly silent and with valves open in sport/sport+ it's just the perfect sound - low and deep, gurgling beast with natural pops from the factory CS tune. Also, when you're on the throttle in gears 1-3 and let off at 4-5k it produces a very nice s55 fart. Lol. The Single MP/Remus makes the s55 fart actually sound good. If you ever want to hear mine and are in OC, lmk. |

BM3 Stage 1 and GTS tune on the transmission.
I drove it stock for about a year and then did the tune. Now, I can't see any reason to go back to stock.

I'm fascinated reading the comments from the CS owners saying the tune is perfect and to leave it alone. I feel exactly the same... except I just have plebian ZCP. It's so good I don't want to touch it; yet you CS guys have more power, more torque and who knows what other subtle tweaks and refinements. Having never driven a CS, I guess ignorance is bliss as far as I'm concerned. Been there done that multiple times with big name tuners on other platforms and it's never been worthwhile in my experience. Enjoy your stock tunes!

The benefit of having camber plates is that you can setup the car with additional negative camber. For track days, negative camber will increase cornering traction and also allow more even wear on the front tires.

Camber plates allow adjustability in setting the camber angle of the wheels/tires. Which effects handling and tire wear. You don't have much camber adjustment stock. If you want to retain your edc, M Performance HAS and Ground Control Camber Plates are the way to go. If you dont have a CS get your edc coded to the CS software. |
