Just bought a GTS

Hey Guys... I have been looking for a while, but with the prices where these GTS' are at I feel its time to buy. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe I'm right? I was considering a GT3, but for the extra $40k in my pocket and a virtually new car I am super happy. Just picked up a Sapphire Black and has less than 70 miles on the clock. Has anyone set up a registry? I should be getting the car in the next few days and am super excited.

Welcome to the club. I have had mine for close to two years now and it sure delivers in terms of raw experience and sensations. I was coming from an f80. Night and day...
Do not focus on some of the bad reviews mentioned above. The car was not properly set up for those...
A lot of rave reviews over the last two years.
You will be getting a lot of thumbs up on the road! I can guarantee that.
Enjoy!!

Gratz on the GTS!!!

Interestingly enough.... im looking into getting a 991.2 GT3 or Turbo S. Tired of the M4. And coming from an M4 I cant see myself trading up to another M4 even if its a GTS.

Just curious.... If money wasn’t an issue or determining factor, would you have taken the GT3 instead over the M4 GTS??

I made the conscious decision to buy a new GTS over a 991.1 GT3, but if you can get a .2 GT3 @ MSRP, then no question get it over a GTS. Way better (and hopefully more reliable) motor in the .2 over the .1.

I am working towards buying a GTS but have to sell my current car first. Where did you purchase it from?

Hello Everyone... thanks for all the comments! I have had several m3s going back to 2002. When these came out I tried to get one from Braman in South FL with no luck and from what I remember they were asking over MSRP. Then fast forward to today. I ended up buying mine from Fields BMW in Winter Park, FL. It is like new with about 64 miles. I uncovered today that it may be the last M4 GTS ever built. Can anyone help me confirm this information? I was trying to find out how many Black Saphire GTS' were built and put in the vin in google and then came across a thread talking about the last Saphire Black GTS being built on Nov. 28, 2016 and shipping to the US. It said the last 7 of the VIN and they are from my car. Can anyone confirm this is true??? This would be a sweet bonus for me to find out as I love the M brand and have always admired the CSL and these GTS'. My VIN ends in K579111. Thanks again!

Thank you! That is pretty exciting... Does BMW release this information and publish it somewhere?

I love Porsche and have previously owned a 997 Turbo. I think they are great cars, but sold it and bought an R8 because I like when cars have a raw feel to them. I felt like the Turbo was awesome - very fast, and beautiful car, but sometimes I felt like I wanted a little more excitement out of the drive. I'm sure if I had a GT3 or GT3 RS I wouldn't have felt that way. Would I buy a GT3 or GT3 RS one day? Maybe. I just have a hard time justifying their prices at times, but maybe it is my lack of experience with the brand besides owning my 997 Turbo...

I'd take a 991.2 S over the GTS. All day!

Congrats! I do think it's a great time to buy. I'd take a GTS all day over the CS and prices are getting eerily close (comparing used GTS to new CS).

I don't think that's a fair question. If a M4 GTS and GT3 were priced the exact same then I think everyone would take the GT3 every time. But they're priced far enough apart that I don't think you can make the comparison without making money part of the determining factor.

Let's assume for a second they were priced the same:

Assuming all things equal...brand new cars or CPO same amount of milage etc...Would you take a GT3 at $100k over a M4 GTS at $100k? Probably. Would you ever take a M4 GTS at $150k over a GT3 at $150k? Probably not.

I believe It is a fair question... let’s not forget that some folks bought GTS at around $150k. Obviously you are someone that prefers GT3 over GTS. But there are still those that prefer GTS over GT3 for whatever reason... so your assumption GT3 is everyones choice over the other isnt necessarily the case.
