Vargas GC Installation

Might be a stupid question, but I'm getting GC turbos installed at a local shop here in Vegas and I get a text saying I need aftermarket intakes. I thought they were plug and play. From what I've seen and understand, the OEM intakes work just fine. Just curious if this is actually necessary. Especially since it seems like intakes are hard to come by.

OEM intakes work. Might need to trim heat shields a bit (I did). Hot and cold stockers bolt up.

Which shop are you using? We now offer installation

I recommend upgrading the intakes with aftermarket turbos

VTT recommends the use of aftermarket intakes.

Stock intake works with Bank 1 turbo inlet. Bank 2 turbo inlet may need some DIY PVC plumbing in order for the silicone to slide over.

Heat shields will need to be trimmed.

Ah, ok. I think I'll look for intakes. I'd rather not have to rig it up to make it work.

I'm selling a used set of BMS Elite intakes for $299 shipped, feel free to PM me if you're interested. But all you really need with the Bank 2 inlet is a 45 or 90 degree PVC pipe. It won't be pretty, but it'll do the job.
