Who here runs a radar detector?

The new Uniden R7 is coming out in April, its essentially everything a "Valentine 2" should have been. I Recently sold my V1 and Max 360, next up is my R3 to buy a couple R7's. Cant wait

just know your roads; radars can be quite annoying no matter how good the filter is...highways just look for nests and slow down...but they aint using radar. saw an NJ state tropper pulled over on the shoulder half way out his car shooting laser. Is that even legal or accepted practice; dangerous AF, but all there cops got hard ons nowadays.

i;ve never used waze; but seems like the middle gorund- no bogeys

I don’t have one in my M3, but I love my uniden R1 in my daily. With x band off and less sensitive K option, it barely bugs me.

i have 4 radar detectors and 6 cars. I have a detector in each of the cars i am afraid of being stopped in. I think they just help me be aware that radar is being in the area and I need to be cautious.

The detector didn't help when I got popped at 100+ by a cop that just saw me drive by, ok, fly by.

My knowledge of radar/laser is minimal, but I believe only state police can use radar (and possibly lidar now), but local/municipal can only use Vascar or ENRADD.

I've been on the fence with getting a radar detector- in the ~7 years I've lived in PA, I got pulled over once for going 38 in a 25. But just one ticket would make the cost of a radar detector worth it.

a few V1 on all our vehicles. most with old software.

I only enable Ka band so very few false warnings. I just need to know direction and strength of the signal. they work great for that purpose.

as for lidar they need to be <1000ft to shoot. so waze and eyeballs work well unless you are going triple digits.

Enradd is like non existent, Vascar is an issue in some locations, but you will not see it much. You cant win them all, right?

Any law enforcement can use radar or lidar, but lidar you must be stationary in order to use it. Radar is the only system to use if a cop is in motion unless they use their "eyes" to determine speed or a pacing technique.

They can catch your speed over 1500 ft away with Lidar, but its more common to be less than that.

Upgraded V1 Issues 2019 M550

freshly upgraded V1 in M550XI constantly throwing false alerts. i built car but package came with gesture control. Valentine told me to place duct tape on dash as well as rear facing laser detector. Not doing either. Not a fix but a bandaid. I will reluctantl VFR first. Suggestions on a system or workaround before I return?

Does anyone else have this issue as well as a fix for their Valentine One? If not I will have to return it.

Thanks and sorry if it wasn't clear enough.

I run an Escort Redline, and have X and K turned off, police here only use Ka. However, all detectors fail at laser, if its on its you and you have a ticket. I had jammers on my last BMW, but didn't have time to fully remove on trade so only runnnng detector. Got saved by kind soul flashing warning on an infamous divided 4 lane road with 40mph speed limit.
