Concept XM thoughts.
Curious to hear everyone's thoughts on the Concept XM. In my opinion there is very little that is BMW in this design. I get that they are trying something new, appealing to different tastes, or insert whatever argument that justifies something so ugly, but does that mean they should cut their current fan base loose by designing them out of their cars? Count me as someone who does not understand BMW's current strategy. Is this really how most BMW owners want their vehicle to look?

It's horrendous
BMW is totally off their rocker with their new design philosophy. They're trying so hard to appease the IG fan base (which will move onto something shiny and new in a heartbeat), they are losing diehard BMW fans who have been around for a decade or more. |

Not a great design…the issue with all the latest designs is the proportions…and that’s a basic principle. However, more and more I’m starting to like the latest M3/M4 in certain colours… so I wonder if in a few months we will all like this design.

The question we might want to ask is this. Is there nothing BMW could put out, no matter how poorly designed and disfigured, that most wouldn't eventually say looks good? If everyone around you is telling you a circle is a square, at some point most people just give in to the crowd. I'm curious to see how far BMW pushes this. It's almost like they're conducting an experiment to see how bizarre they can get and still sell a car. If they slapped a BMW logo on this would this debate still happen? Or could it be agreed it's a piece of crap?

Up to this point, cars have been built for the North American market. This car, and most cars for the foreseeable future, are built to appeal to the Chinese market. That's it - we all ask ourselves "how could BMW design such a garish, disjointed vehicle?" Well - it wasn't designed for us and we aren't used to that. BMW is all in on China.

If I'm ever going to buy an electric "M" vehicle, it sure as hell won't be a boxmobile like this. There are transportation appliances and there are cars. This is not the latter.
