Take it for what it's worth (which prob isn't much) but my CA said that the next iteration of the comp pack will be like the PPK for the 3-series. At the time of release it can be checked off as an option on a new car or retrofitted to an existing.

I'm not hopeful that it will be the case, but it's interesting nonetheless.

So then that leaves a small HP bump, tuned suspension, and maybe some minor software changes for steering, feel, modes, etc. Would be cool if they had stickier tires as part of the CP. And bring back the Alcantara steering wheel! Don't get me wrong, given the option, I'm sure I'd check the Competition Package box. But I wish they'd offer MPE as an option, and give you credit for the standard exhaust, like the wheels
I'm surprised they don't for the U.S. market. In Canada, for 2016 orders you can check a box for factory installed MPE with CF tips and it only costs $4900CAD/$3800USD before any negotiated discounts. I assume the great price is because they're giving credit for the stock exhaust.

That'd be cool, about a 10% bump in HP. Given the crappy PA roads plus the fact I won't track the car, suspension mods don't interest me. Extra grunt does though.

Me too!...For the early adapters, (like myslef), a PPk type comp offering is music to my ears, just what I've been waiting for, that and the MPE and I'm good, while keeping the factory warranty intact.

You have MPE. Do you feel it's worth the $4500 or so? I realize it's a full exhaust and not just a muffler like the MPE on the F3x but that price seems steep for OEM.

Not worth it by itself, but i'm investigating down pipes. Price is definitely high, but I got it at a substantial discount

Wow, did not know that about Canadian orders and MPE. I saw a bunch of F8X in another thread headed for Canada, all with MPE. Now it makes sense. Damn you Canadians.

I'd be pretty happy with a PPK type Comp Pack. I'd do the retrofit. BMW warranty covered tune; what's not to like (the price, I'm sure).

Seems the whole idea of the Comp Pack timing is to juice sales mid way into life cycle after the initial launch hype is wearing off. Wouldn't a PPK set-up defeat that as there would be no reason to wait for Comp Pack or you could even save $ by buying a MY15 used and retrofit.

Nothing official has been released - either specifications or a release date. What we have here is 36 pages of dreams and speculation.

While the comp pack will be a boost over the current set up, it will also need to be spec'd well under the GTS in order to justify the GTS pricing, which is also another big unknown at this point.

.........I REALLY hope it does not take styling cues or wheels from the GTS. Man, what a visual disaster that thing turned out to be.

It won't. The comp. pack is just a minor sharpening of a street car, it is not supposed to make it into a street legal track car. I'm sure it will be more like a factory version of a light tune and some mods that is so popular around here and will make everyone swoon
The GTS is something very different.

As discussed at one point in this thread, the competition package is rumored to use the style 666M wheel. As it happens, this is also the presumed style number of the wheels that are present on both the GTS Concept and most recent GTS prototype spy shots. They would probably be silver, gray, or black for the ZCP instead of orange, but they would be the same polarizing style nevertheless. Of course, the wing and splitter won't be on the ZCP, but to me (and I suspect to many) those wheels are one of the more jarring style elements of the GTS.

That would be pretty horrid. Especially considering how absolutely amazing the last 2 ZCP wheels looked.

Probably still wouldn't stop me from getting ZCP should I go F80. Either option out the regular wheels if they let you like in the M5/6, or just use these silly 666M as coffee tables. Goddamn, even the name is ridiculous.

Yeah I would be highly disappointed if those are the wheels. They would come off the car immediately.

Howdy Porsha! I was really hoping they'd do a multi-spoke wheel like the old ZCP's. I'm not a giant fan of the stock 5 spoke 19" wheels.

Haha I know right? On different note, LSB on an F80 is going to be stunning. Lots of pics after you take delivery please!

I'm anxiously waiting to see when the Comp pack drops. I'm thinking next year with the M4 LCI?
