It's funny how that works, but I know my opinions always change wildly with time. The first time I saw a 1 series I thought it was ugly, and then suddenly I fell in love with it and had to have one. Every time I see my car now I have to stop and take a long look at it.

Even stranger, I hated my E90 WHILE I had it but now that I sold it I think E90s look alright (pre LCI, the LCI has always looked fantastic in my eyes).

The 1-series took a minute to grow on me, but the minute that I saw an M-package 135i I was sold. When the 1M debuted I creamed my panties.

I wouldn't call this an accurate render. The quarter panel is definitely too short. and proportioned to the rest of the body. The rendering's hoffmeister kink isn't BMW-esque. I believe (and hope) that the real deal will look better.

Heres a closer look, the body is in proportion with the spy pic, the door lines and all. the only thing is the C pillar might be off according to Scott on this forum who has most likely seen the car close up and the tail lights and also the body line might be off a bit. but the body itself is to its true shape. its only a hint and a guess until the spy tape comes off and we see the real thing under it all.

This render needs fixing, as it followed the M6 feature line of the fender to much.

>> LOOK at the fender, it is much like the 1M's fender, and so the feature line goes down sooner, not like the 6er.

great render but firmly believe that it won't look like that at the end. Though the coupe will now be the new 4, I think BMW would want it to be something that's good looking specially as this will be the new model that will carry the 4 badge.

Thats why I am selling my C63 right now, leasing a 335 then in 3 years will get the new M3, sure it won't sound the same as that awesome V8 or put you back in your seat like the C63 does, but all around its going to be a better car, its just evolution...

Great render, much appreciated.

As for the car, that boring flat hood reminds me of the e63. Worst visual feature, IMO.

Render looks like a shrunken F13 6 Series Coupe with an F30 front end. I would think and hope that the new F80 ///M4 would be look a little different than this. Good Render no-doubt, but a little too close to the 6.

Not really feeling it and it's not because I have an e92m.... Just for some reason it's not really a fresh makeover. Not getting the feeling I got when the e46m was phased out and then the e92 came out. For me that was a WOW!

Im with you on that one. If they made the front lights look more like the f10 5 series/M5 that would have been a much better move for BMW. I think thats what kills the whole look of the car. That gap by the grills is so not needed. The e92 in my eyes will still be a sexy looking car either way. The new 3 series is nice from the front fender to the back but the front lights and the flat looking hood kills it completely.

the front lights will look like the f30 and the 'gap' design is from the i8 so its a new direction for bmw, and it looks much much better in person. the e92 already looks dated when you look at it objectively, and there will surely be a hood buldge on the M so thats to come...and from the rear you'll do a double take as to whether its an F10 or an F30, very very similar, as is the profile...

If you look at this side profile by Autobild. You can see the key elements of the design such as C-Pillar and glass relation and surface treatment in the lower and upper character line and how the rear lights wrap around at the rear to give that distinctive "moving fast" look. The 4er is a very sporty and dare I say it sexy looking car.
At the very least it could be probable that the M4 could get a bootlid spoiler.
It took to existing testing to confirm the M6 performed better with one , so they will look at for the M4 especially since the rear deck has a more sleeker slope. Change the wheels also to the wheels we see on the prototypes to give a more accurate idea of the appearance.

Here is an idea of how the rear will look as the rear lights become slimmer and more elongated than the F30. The diffuser etc is not accurate as in most cases of BMW M.
Aerodynamics = Function over Form, so the 1M styled (or borrowed) semi-plastic rear on the lower part of the car will be body coloured. And the rear reflectors are missing and something else...

Now that's more like it.... just some micro-changes away from the real M4.
The car I seen @ M is Alpine White.

I think your M3 values will become more accessible.

Can you tell more about the hood bump? Will it take on the traditional bump as we see on the current generation M3 or will it be more of a reverse scoop for heat dissipation?
