I've really been thinking of this for a while now. I've never been a fan of trucks, saw them as a utility vehicle that one had if it was needed for a specific purpose. But every time I see a raptor I'm drawn to it and really love the way it looks, the creature comforts it offers and the crazy performance, completely different to the M3 of course, that it offers.
I've been looking on Turo for a rental in the area and can't find any, have checked Carmax a few times to see. I want to drive one, but I wouldn't be getting one now so I don't want to bother with a dealer and a test drive knowing I'm wasting their time. Keep hoping the 2020 version brings back a V8, ideally a twin turbo V8 hehe.

I drove the F90 M5 and M760. Just wasted the vendor's time. At least it was fun for me.

On that note that M drivers seem to trade / like raptors ( I love them), but to me a raptor is basically a ///M150, the whole package and that's what makes it so appealing IMO..

Funny that there is a Raptor thread on here.
I just traded in my 2017 Shelby GT350 with 4700 miles on the clock for a fully loadedRuby Red Metallic 2018 Raptor CrewCab. I freaking love it! The Shelby was incredible and I really enjoyed it. However, living in a colder climate where is rains and snows. I decided I had enough of it. Same reason I got rid of my M3's. I still have my 2018 TTRS as my fun "sports" car. It's brutally fast year round. The Raptor is surprisingly QUICK! I am going to be ordering a JB4 for it here soon. $429 for 35WHP/55TQ on map 1 91 octane. Raced my buddies 2017 Audi S3 with a JB1 in my (for now) stock crewcab. We went from a dig (0-60) he used LC and I just brake boosted in 4A mode. He got me by 2 cars, but the initial launch (0-40) was very even. I think with the JB4 it'll be way closer. I would definitely not own a truck as my "only vehicle", but wow... this truck really is awesome. Very different experience driving a big ole bruiser down the road. Car is very WIDE and has a mean street presence! The turbo whistle sounds fantastic and the exhaust note is...well, it's okay. Not a 5.2L Voodoo, but it's still not terrible. I am really enjoying it! Can't wait to do some fun trips in this thing. Also insurance is WAY cheaper on the Raptor compared to the GT350 haha.

Just got mine. Feels very at home in its surrounding. Still breaking it in, but I've taken it on some light trails and it's amazing. |

Well, I said I would do it, and I just did. Paid MSRP, clean cash deal, in SoCal, which is a good deal out here. I love it. Perfect complement to the M3. I'm going to put the M3 in the garage for a while and enjoy floating over the LA potholes, swales, and dips that scrape the lip of the M3. It's such a commanding presence that people really stay out of your way. Totally different dynamic than with the little M3.

Congrats - you won't be disappointed. I think my Raptor gets more attention than my F80.

Dedicated sports car + tow vehicle / family hauler is ideal, if you have the garage space, in my opinion. |
