Infotainment system in alfa is really bad(first hand experience)
Reliability is reportedly very spotty. It may be more fun to drive, but probably not for very long from what I've read

many points wouldn't let me buy it over the M3/M4

1- Suspension as much it's good and grippy, I prefer the one on the M mainly for the freedom of adjustability, Active suspension is a must, also the M feels sportier.

2- steering wheel 1 function, it is amazing but M spoils me i want it harder

3- You cant disable the traction in any setting apart from Race mode

4- Seats are not comfy and they look medicore, competition seats even with the lack of lumber support they are better, softer lether, looks way better and they put u well in place

5- color limitation form inside and outside

6- interior as overall is well sorted but gear shifter looks sloppy and infotainment system sucks as well as main dashboard would be more advanced the current feels 10 years old.

7- looks yes the M looks better in all angles the Alfa looks great from behind only

8- reliability and lots of crackling in seat-belt is cheap, seats and other parts of the car

Having said all of that both are great cars but the M cars are the best daily driver for me!

Sound wise there is no comparison, thank god for BMW active sound management in the cabin. I was under the impression my CP sounded better than that externally.

Still think the M3 CP looks better but the Alfa drives better(as I test drove one before buying my 2018).

OP, thank you for the video, I’ve enjoyed your YouTube channel very much!

I ended up getting the M3C after lusting for the Guilia Quadrifoglio for a 1 1/2 years. I still think the Alfa looks better, sounds better and handles better and I love the steering wheel start button😁. I spent a LONG process of research and at the end of the day went with M3C for the following reasons:
1. I got a new M3C with the ultimate package (every option other than CCB), for almost $30k off which was $18k less than an Alfa with the options I’d want.
2. Interior of the M3C is MUCH nicer than the Alfa.
3. The BMW idrive infotainment system blows away the Alfa’s (and that’s not even taking into account complaints about Alfa’s infotainment system crapping out on a regular basis, or the continual complaints about CarPlay not working correctly).
4. Options and creature comforts much better on M3C (no HUD on Alfa, if you go for the cool carbon ceramic seats or steering, no heated steering, or heated seats - which are a must for frigid Canadian winters).
5. Cost of ownership much lower in BMW. No cost maintenance for 4yr/80k km, vs having to spend $3500 every 30k km for the serpentine belt service, on top of regular oil change/tune up costs
6. Limited options for winter tires (at least in Calgary) and no ready options that Alfa dealers have readily available). I came close to pulling the trigger in a 2017 Alfa last February that was $7k off, an Albut it would have taken a month for the dealer to get in a winter tire and rim set
7. Unsure about Alfa reliability. I had major limp mode issues with my 2008 BMW 335xi and don’t want to deal with the same issue ever again where I may not have my car for a few weeks to a month.

Those were my reasons for this go round, next time around if Alfa addresses some of these concerns, I may go with the Alfa. But when it comes to replace my new M3C, I’ll probably go with the best available AWD option. I came close also going with the TT RS and audi RS3 for the AWD, but again did not like the limited options on the Audi (no HUD, the RS3 has manual seat adjusts). The RS5 wasn’t in the running because IMO it looks like a grandpa car. If the M2C has the same options as the M3C, I probably would have gone with that - I think that is the best looking of the cars, but didnt want Dakota leather and prefer the full leather interior and after almost work years with HUD, I really didnt want to give it up.

The alfa is one of those cars that looks better in person. Photos don't do it justice. That being said, I much prefer the look of the m3 cp.

Sound I'd give the edge to the alfa, although I do like the s55 sound also.

Alfa is very quick off the line, almost shockingly so

Interior looks ok, but once you touch it and play with the infotainment, you realize the m3 is lightyears ahead.

The local alfa dealer is a little shack like place. I've heard there is no one in the area that can reliability work on the giulia. The dealership looks deserted. And from what I've read, you'll be visiting there often. Dealership support is huge part of my decision. My local dealership has been quite wonderful as I'm on my 4th M car.

Performance and appearance pluses and minuses for both but I think it comes down to whether or not you are OK with the front of your car styled to represent a vagina.

I agree very bad and disappointing, as for driving it is super nice and fast and sounds good, but I still like the M4 more!

Your ZCP M4, with all complete M perf trimming and the new LED lights, is one of the best looking car designs of all time right below hypercar.
