Which month's programs are available?

After reviewing the threads here, it seemed that if you lock in Dec (for example) and take delivery in Feb (hopefully), they you can use any incentive and rate programming from Dec, Jan or Feb.

But my CA says that I can only use the month that I lock (Dec) or delivery (Feb), but not Jan. Is this correct?

I tried calling BMW Finance, but they will not answer any questions. They say that only my CA can tell me anything.

Which is correct?

To my knowledge, you have to "lock" that month's programming in order to use it. That is to say, you cannot use programming from months in between the month you lock and the month of delivery. If you want to take advantage of Jan programming, you must "re-lock" during Jan.

Your CA is 100% incorrect. If you lock in December and the rates or programs improve in the next months within your lock you will get the better program. The only thing you can't do is combine programs from different months.

You don't have to re-lock as long as you are inside your lock window. Makes things a little easier which is cool. People use the "re-lock" term often but usually incorrectly.

OK, thanks for the info.

It turns out the car is expected to arrive at the port (West Coast) on Jan 21. So, it should get to the dealer right at the end of Jan. Probably I want to wait until Feb 1, to find out if the programming improves...

So, wonder how I can tell tell my CA that I can use Jan programming in Feb...Any ideas?

I have called BMW Finance about this, and they won't talk to me about it. They say only my CA can answer these questions...

Depending on your "dealers" location you can lock in rates from 60(east coast) to 90(west coast) days. The clock starts at the end of the month that you lock in. Not all incentives are lockable.

You can not mix and match months programing. However you can pick the best programing within the lockable time frame you are locked in for. (the best months programing for your situation)

remember its your responsibility to lock in, never assume your dealer or rep is going to lock you in.

In order to get locked in you will need to submit a credit app and your credit "will" be run

lastly you "must" take delivery of the vehicle in the locked time frame in order to take advantage of the programing. You can "not" go backwards. So in that I mean if your lock in time runs out and its the next month and you take delivery of the car you can not take advantage of the locked programing you were previously locked in with

Psuedo related - my dealer is trying to trade for a car that meets my needs at a good agreed on price within the next few days to take advantage of the December incentives.

If they cannot, they have an allocation available as well. Will I be able to lock December's incentives for this allocation? Or just the lease rates?

you can lock in december programing if you lock it in within the december time frame, so get going on that with your dealer today! or you can do it online with BMWUSA.com and apply for financing and then make sure and select the dealer your working with and have them confirm with you once you and them see the approval

No. The Holiday Promotions are not lockable. But you can get them today. Probably the best day of the year to buy a car.

So the current month stuff got extended through Jan 3, and the lock makes it so you have to take delivery by 60 days after the end of the month you do the lock, right?

Does that mean if I lock tomorrow for a build order I have until 60 days after Jan 3 to take delivery? Or 60 days after Jan 31?

Seems like a bit of a loophole that might give me some extra time for the build order to complete.

It's 60 days following the last day of the month you lock in, so 60 days following Jan 31.
