Another newbie question - changing gears

Still learning how to get used to my M4 (and loving it!).

I use Drive mode most of the time, but will sometimes downshift for a burst of power. What I don't know how to do is switch back to drive mode while still driving, or of this happens automatically. On my 453, drive mode was automatically re-engaged after I used the paddle to change hears.

Slap the shifter to the right. It basically toggles back and forth between modes.
