Looking for new M3 - What's your lease?

I'm on the hunt for a new M3 with comp and exec packs.
My current lease ('16) is:

3yr/10k
$73.2k MSRP
$6000 down
$805/month (taxes included)

There financing rates are different now so you can't really compare it to your deal from 3 years ago. When I bought mine a couple of months ago I ended up financing, but was considering leasing. For my car, which had a MSRP of $82.2K (price of $75.7k) I was looking at a lease payment of $907 pre-tax with nothing down (paying drive-offs at inception). Unfortunately for you, the MFs have gone up and the residuals tanked, so that same deal would now be $1006/mo. You would need to secure roughly an additional $4,500 in savings to offset the difference in financing.

Thanks for the feedback, I'm trying to figure out where people are falling with discounts. I am hoping to get an idea of what to expect when ordering vs cars on lot as well.

Well, you very likely don't have the option to order a car as they are at the end of production and there are VERY few allocations left. You're best bet is to try to find one on the lot and make your best deal. Also, because there won't be another M3 for quite some time (spring 2020 IIRC) the deals on them may not be as great as you would think.

That is a total bummer man. I guess I'll have to see what's out there at the time of lease end. If there's no M3's around, I'll have to try out an M550 and hope I have no regrets. Thanks again for your info.

I will be honest. This was beyond horrible for a 16 lease when lease rates were great. You can do significantly better than this for even today's lease rates, even for M3.

There is another thread for all the different kind of deals you might want to dig in.

It wasn't a car on the lot, I did order it and allocations were rare and spoken for. I wouldn't say it was horrible - just not ideal. I was happy especially since my work place pays the lease

That money down is misleading. Essentially, you’re paying $97X/month for the lease term.

Well in that case, I wouldn't matter money at all since somebody else is paying for it. I wish I am being offered the same thing.

But to put it in perspective what a great deal for 16 MY used to look like:

3yr 10k/year
MSRP: 745xx
5k due at signing
Monthly payment after tax (tax is about 9.5%): 594
Car was ordered to my spec

I am not trying to be mean but that’s not a great deal on 16 MY, it is certainly a very good monthly lease payment. Cheers

That is a great deal. What zipcode? How many allocations did the dealer have? There were none to be found in the northeast.

Mind you this was almost 3 years ago at Northwest. Can’t have his kind of deal nowadays for an order anymore.

Hey, somebody said this wasn’t a great deal. So we all have our own perspective and being happy about it is the most important.

I recall Residuals back in 2015 being as high as 66%. In 2016 were around 62%, july 2018 57% - 10k/36month leases. Also MF was lower amd fleet discounts higher.

@Gronkspike if your business pays for the lease, order yourself a M5 competition and call it a day. Why are you shopping around if it's not your money? Seems like a waste of your time, unless you have a budgeted car allowance.

Spot on friend. I have an allowance and don't want to exceed with personal money. Hopefully someday the allowance will be within M5 territory.
