Thoughts on buying 2019 M4 CS?

I’m looking at purchasing a 2019 M4 CS with low miles. Car fax shows clean.
Does anyone on this forum own one? What is your experience? Is it with the money or should I go with a M4 Competition instead.

What are the know problems and is the M4 CS more expensive to service than a M4 comp?

Thanks for your feedback,
Jeff

Others will surely chime in here but the CS lacks the creature comforts. There's no arm rest, dual zone climate control, door pockets, inside door handles. It's lighter and faster than a competition car. I think the steering wheel is different, the wheels are different, and you get the CS badging.

If you plan to track the car, the CS is nice to have. Otherwise, I'd go with the ZCP. I may be wrong on some of my facts above, but the gist is that BMW sought to make the car lighter, and the engine puts out extra HP and I think torque.

Probably not noticeable in street driving.

ZCP owners will say the CS isn't worth it, CS owners will say there's no going back.

Personal two cents after owning both..

If you want some slightly more creature comforts id suggest an M3CS as it has door panels, HK sound, and much lower production over the M4. Can't go wrong with either though

If you don't track frequently, the CS is not worth it. ZCP offers more creature comforts which really matter to most people for daily driving.

I track a lot and have a ZCP. I'd get the ZCP.

I'm sure CS people will disagree but that's why we here, to hear the arguments.

M3CS is worth it because of the limited one year production run. I had one, absolutely loved it.

M4CS just doesn't appeal to me.

It depends on what your purpose and use case for the car is.

If all you want is the performance of the CS then you can accomplish that with a ZCP by swapping the front sway bar to the non-ZCP one and then having the dampers/diff tuned to CS setting. Likewise, you'd use the OTS CS tune. You can do all of this for less than $1000.

On the other hand, if you're a collector or plan to have it parked in the garage I'd go for the CS. The car looks so damn good and I think the CS specific touches make it special.

Lastly, if a manual transmission is important to you then the ZCP is the most powerful and most dialed in 6MT you can have in the F8X generation cars.

I was exactly where you are when deciding between a CS and a ZCP but for me the 6MT made the ZCP a more suitable option for my purposes.

I have an M4CS and love it, its preference. At the end of the day, do what makes you happy and either an M3CS or M4CS you can't go wrong both are amazing cars. If you buy a Comp, you will mod it to be like a CS (suspension software, sway bars blah blah blah), what gives...
my .02 cents.

Would get non-CS because I like creature comforts and don't track the M4.

Also skipped the competition package because I like the lumbar support. Pops and bangs are nice on the M4 competition though.

The CS M cars are the best of their breed. For me, the perfect daily driver/canyon carver combo

I considered zcp before the cs, but I find the cs was more roomy (no arm rest and no pockets in door cards) and it felt special. I actually find the no arm rest comfortable. I daily mine and I love it. I have had e92 m3, f87 m2 and z4mc. M4cs is totally in different league.
One of the biggest factor I did not go with zcp is because of the hood and the OLED taillight.

Anyone know how many M4CS were produced?

Can't go wrong either way ZCP or CS.
CS is best looking M4 made with that hood, OLEDs and carbon bits.

I daily drive my M4CS, tracked a few times. I don't have any dislikes about it, but in the end it is preference. If you can justify spending more for a M3/M4 with slightly more stock adjustments, then go for it. If you wanna build something from the ground up, start with base or ZCP.

I picked up a 2018 M3 CS a few weeks ago and I can't get enough of it. It's really something pretty special.

Go for the CS, handling and suspension is far superior.
Looks much better as well (wheels, taillights, carbon details…)

I daily drive mine and don’t miss the comfort items from the standard/competition.

CS, no looking back. It's my daily, I don't track the car, and it fits my needs perfectly.

and the M4cs has an unbranded HK sound system, it's been documented but does not show up on BMWs spec sheet.

I have an M4CS...I bought it because it is a limited production car with unique parts that the ZCP does not have. Lack of comforts doesn't bother me, though I would've probably taken all of the M4CS exterior bits with ZCP interior bits.

Only time will tell, but I believe should I keep the M4CS for a long time, it will definitely hold its value better than a ZCP.

I got a well optioned 2018 ZCP over the CS.

I wanted a manual transmission so it was an easy choice.
My car came with 768M (CS wheels, but in black), CF bits (spoiler, lip, splitters) and MPE from the factory so it looks and sounds great.

I just purchased a 2020 M4 Heritage edition. I had two other cars I was looking at the 2019 CS in black and the 2020 CS red. After driving the heritage edition. With the nicer interior I was coming from the M2 competition. I figured I would get the heritage edition and then I could always add CS parts genuine CS parts and have best of both worlds.

But I tell you what the M4 all around is an amazing car it feels very light on its toes. It has tons of power over the M2competition and my M2 competition was modified with the M performance suspension.

I do like the aggressive looks of the M4 CS however you can always purchase the wheels go with the suspension firmware update and change out the front sway bar. And if you find a heritage edition that car comes with revised shocks struts springs and sway bars the car feels amazing.

Good Luck!!
