BimmerCode and Apple CarPlay

I was able to code my 16 M4 which didn't have Apple CarPlay with no issues using BimmerCode and Vgate wifi OBD adapter. I'm trying to do the same with my 18 M3 which has Apple CarPlay with no success. The wifi connects but BimmerCode doesn't. It gives an error message that the connection was terminated. Anyone had success with BimmerCode and Apple CarPlay?

How did you code in apple play? I have a 17 built in July 16 and from everything I understand I cannot code it in.

Did you turn off Apple CarPlay in your phone settings? Turn off Bluetooth? Essentially airplane mode? Not being rude, but you're sure the ignition is on?

I've heard...not sure if this is confirmed, but there were some issues with the earlier version of vgate using wifi. Apparently Bluetooth obd scanners or newer versions of vgate wifi are fine. Seriously, I don't know if this is completely true. I use a Bluetooth obd scanner (veepeak) so I don't know any quirks about the wifi scanners

Was your 16 M4 a late build with ID5?
I have Id4 on my Jan build 16 M4 and I can't get carplay. Am. I missing something?
Would love it to work..

in ID4 you can't get natively Carplay.
Only iDrive 5 and iDrive 6.

Guys the car already has Apple CarPlay from factory. My question was about using BimmerCode to do some coding without Apple CarPlay preventing the connection. In any case, I traded the M3 in for a C63s coupe and couldn't be happier

Simple. Just turn off CarPlay on the iPhone settings during coding.

Not so worried about carplay. More worried about changes with bimmercode going tits up.

BimmerCode doesn't support reading HU_NBT2 module with custom FSC's

If you want to make coding changes to your headunit you will need to use Esys

If you used ENET activation you can always restore to oem before using BimmerCode.
If it was USB activation, feel free to ask us for free USB coding that you need for your headunit.

It's not possible to code Apple CarPlay with Bimmercode.
You need activation. If you need one, feel free to contact us.
