UUC Short Shift Kit is STRAIGHT :)

Hello peeps.

Several folks have asked, so I took some pics of Alex's (from ACM West) UUC SSK that is installed on KERM4T. As you can see, the shaft sits perfectly straight.

I'm currently getting mine installed so I'll post up more pics and a video of my own car later on. Let me know if you guys have any questions.

NOTE: This is the new version of the UUC SSK.

will this void my tire insurance warranty? will the dealer know I have this when I bring the car in to service my tires? is it possible it can blow engine?

lol, for real though, thanks for the update. I may pick this up - change the overall feel of driving this 6MT you think? so definitely worth it?

LOL

It'll definitely change the driving experience. Whether it's worth it depends on the person. To me, it was one of those "once you try it, you can't go back" feelings.

If

0=rowboat
5=stock M3
10=Honda S2000

in terms of shifter feel, what would you rate the UUC?

How about a 911? I'd rate that a 9.

The only 911 I've ever driven is a 996S and 997 turbo. That was a long time ago and don't remember the shifter feel. Both were friends cars.

I can tell you that it does feel better than a manual RAV4 and probably better than a rowboat (but you already knew that).

EXO, when you place the shifter in 6th gear,

how much clearance do you (or your friend) have between the fat part of the shifter rod and the plastic dash surround in the right rear corner **** (closet to where the passenger's upper thigh would be) ?

Many thanks,
Matthew

My "new version" UUC SSK is not perfectly straight, and I'm surprised yours is. Could it be an installation problem?

Sorry guys... had a long day at work. I only got to drive the car for a little bit today.

The install went great. The short shift feels great. There is more resistance to each shift. Each gate is precise. Shaft is perfectly straight. I'll post more info pics and a video tomorrow when I get more seat time.

I can't tell from your pics if it looks biased right or not. I think the reason why it "seems" there is more room in the top-left quadrant is because of the shape of the boot. Also, the top-left quadrant is home for Reverse (there is no 6th-gear-equivalent-slot on the other side).

The cup holder, which obviously has a left bias, seems to play tricks on the eyes. Exo's install looks good to me
