“Two stage” gas pedal?

Does the F80 have some type of two stage fuel pedal? It seems like I push down about 90% and it hits a wall. But if I push a little harder it will then go 100%.

I tried this with my hand while the car was off. Sure enough, I push about 90% down and it stops.

It's the kickdown switch.

Yep. Here is what the manual states:

Rapid downshifting: To accelerate rapidly, you can skip several gears in sequential mode. To do so, press the accelerator past the resistance point and pull the left shift paddle once or press the selector lever forward once.

Kickdown: To accelerate rapidly, you can skip several gears. Do so by pressing the accelerator past the resistance point.
