I was actively looking and ended up with a 2017 M3 Comp with every option, 51K miles, and paid just over 50k. Looked at a number of 2018's and many were as high as 69K with miles as low as one you scored so seems like you landed a solid deal

Bought a f83 manual for more than I was getting it 2 years ago. It's a crazy market. But things will normalize in 1-2 years once all dealers get their supply of cars. I paid as I didn't think that would happen for atleast another year.
But 1.5 years from now pretty sure there be a massive drop.

That def was a great deal then, because there was nothing, even on 2015 cars, with that low miles, that I was seeing around 50K in the last 45 days (There was a 2017 with 90K a dealer was still asking 45k for and it wasn't even optioned that well lol). You musta snuck in right before the bubble expansion, kinda like I did when I bought my 2021 X3 M40 that they discounted 5% and threw in some other perks. Not finding much of those deals now

I've been keeping an eye on the local market as a F80 is on my short list, and watched as prices climbed over the last year or so. So much that I'm going to hold on to my current car till the spring.

I've been looking at prices for the last 6 months or so. It seems that market is tipping towards coming down, but people are still holding onto the prices they used to get. I'd hope within 3 months we'll see F8x come down into the mid-30's.

Yeah it's interesting to see where the market has gone. I was seeing more F8X in the 30's later last year (that's where I ended up with mine ~38k) and I just don't see many floating in that space anymore.

I just got offered $61k (*trade in*) for my 2018 M3 ZCP w/6spd (fully loaded, 16.8k miles) and could’ve pulled off $62k without much negotiation. I bought it in February for just under $59k w/9k miles. Was looking to trade it for a 2018 M5 w/12k miles, but just couldn’t make it work (they want too much). All that said, I am worried that I just missed the boat and it sounds like the market is stabilizing (for F8x).

I think this is starting to be true. Ive been watching and they are still high, but not selling. Only the super rare ones do. The market is falling and the issue with the prices is that the used market needs more inventory to start to pop up to reduce the costs because these dealers overpaid and they wont drop the price to the point they loose money. So the longer they sit the better it will be for us and the worse it'll be for them. I think we have reached the tipping point where its now favoring buyers. In a few months these dealers will sell at a loss.

Good F8x's are still moving quick for top dollar in my area. 18's with low miles are going for high 60k or more. 17's are mid 50k.
Just yesterday i looked at 2 different M3's 18 zcp each with about 20k miles...price was 72k on both. Still weird out there. |

I'm like a few others thinking about capitalizing on the inflated offers and moving on to something else. For me it would possibly be the new G87 or P car.
Is it fair to assume that in about 18 months from now F80's will follow the E90 M3 pricing trend? Bottoming out in the high teens and low 20's especially for high mileage 15'/16' non Comps. |

It's hard to say. Chip shortages/supply constraints will continue through 2022 according to some of the things I've read. These inflated prices maybe around a bit longer than we thought. I've considered selling to get into something else but selling high to buy high doesn't make sense. I'll keep it for a couple more years.

Honestly the only other car out there I would want currently is a F80, my 16 f82 is awesome but a newer f80 would be sweet , i’ve been looking around some but again it would be selling high to buy high and that is stupid considering the price point I got into my F 82. Hanging onto my F82 for another year or two definitely would not be considered a personal crisis in my book. :-) Hang tight …things will change they always do. |

Thought some of you may enjoy this. I've tracked my F80's "value" across NADA and KBB since I bought it back in Dec. 2019.
Used the following indicators:
You can see that the price of my used M3 dropped significantly around May-June of 2020 (peak Covid) but then has quickly rebounded. (the M3 has been basically sitting the last 4 months for various reasons.)
