Note Garth Tander R8 lapping 40 seconds faster in the same group http://racing.natsoft.com.au/6384809...4.81f/Result?4 Now for some wheels, Rspec tyres, coilovers and downpipes Last edited by DougM; 12-03-2018 at 02:05 PM.. |

Damn you guys are fast at PI!
My first ever track experience was the bmw day at Pi... fun times. I am backing this up with a run Friday 14th with my bone stock m2 at Pi. Should be interesting |

DougM - Ahh - you were the other F80 at Bathurst. Scary place isn't it! Definitely takes a while to get your head around. I'm surprised they put you in that group though - I would have been worrying about looking over my shoulder the whole lap.
I was in Group D, ran a 2.31, which was a 5 second PB for me. Mods are A050's and Pagid RS29's. Tires make all the difference there, I think my best speed down Conrod was about the same and that'll all be better run onto the straight and later braking. I think I did 230 through the kink. There's a PI event in January with the WRX club that I think I'm going to do next. Out of interest - how'd the car run with the tune for 20 min sessions? |

Seriously, don't set yourself a target time, just go out there and try and enjoy it and improve your times progressively through the day. The north circuit is a real power circuit with several fast corners, that take experience and good setup to lay down a quick time. I'll be doing the event, so if you need a hand with anything, or any advice yell out. There are others from this forum who I am sure will be there as well, including some with F82's. I'll be in a red mini. |

Also good on you for enetering the BMW NSW Sprints, it’s a great day and the club puts on a cracking event, cheaper than most track days and you get timing! Loads of fun, enjoy and post up your times after the event... just take the chicane at your own pace! |

Thanks awbmw! I definitely felt like I was batting above my average when the cars I was around were stripped out race cars on slicks

1:48.87 bloke79, M4 CP (A050, Pagid RS29s) Phillip Island WRX Club Trackday 19/1/19 http://racing.natsoft.com.au/6421483...20.81h/View?36 Wasn't great conditions TBH, the track didn't feel as "gripped up" as it did last time I was there, was pouring from the day before. I think there *might* be a '47 in it as it is, but corner speeds are pretty high now and am at the point of adhesion with the setup I've got, so not sure how much more I'm going to get. I'm probably going to do the PIARC day in Feb, so we'll see if there's any more time there. I think I'm probably at the point where I need aero to go much faster. In other news - not many BMW owners doing track work here in Australia!! Where's all the rest of the times? |

I was there the day before and did 1.52 in the M2. I might try the rubber you're on, I need to get an 18" setup to run them. |

went to Tailemn Bend today,
agxr6 M3 Pure DCT, 2.22 DS2500 pads, Conti 5P front tires and Michelin Super Sport rear great fun day out. Car and Brakes didn't mind being on track, however road tires got really hot and look melted, [/URL] |
