Can someone clearly describe what you're all feeling, at what rpm, throttle load etc, and I'll go try simulate same condition

This is bad enough when you are hitting the apex on a corner and the rear just flings out for no reason. On the uphill scenario you would feel traction break during that split second but it happens getting onto the highway which is unnerving
+1

It happens whenever you are trying to maintain speed while holding gear at high RPMs (4k+), say when going around a corner. Also under part throttle (slow acceleration) at high RPMs (4K+). You would feel boost surging/jerking, mostly can be felt in third, fourth, and fifth gear.

It's an issue that used to exist in the past on stage 1 and 2 maps, ~3yrs ago, which got resolved way back (I also remember that not everyone was affected by it, it seemed to impact particular DME software versions. Mine is on 07/2015 I-Step version). However, when the maps got a major refresh with version 9.0 it resurfaced, and versions 9.1 fixed that for stage 1 and 2 maps. But it seems that the CS+ map didn't get that fix.

Two questions:

1. Assuming 91 oct, will the CS+ still produce greater top end (5-7k) gains over the standard CS tune? I don't want more mid-range without more top end and so I'm not super interested in the base CS, unless the base CS is notably strong up top than the ZCP tune.

2. With the latest revisions, are there **any** drive-ability issues with the CS/CS+ tunes? What I'm looking for is 100% factory smoothness, particularly part throttle as it is superbly calibrated (Sport+). Any surging or over sensitivity will not work for me.

Tried everything mentioned and can't simulate this throttle surge

For all you guys experiencing it, why not switch to the cs map

I accidentally downloaded the Stage 1 ACN91 tune rather than the Stage 1 93 octane tune. How much difference is there between these two tunes?

I'm going to guess there's a substantial difference, considering the ACN91 is an even more toned-down version of the regular 91oct map. Either way, it certainly won't allow your tank of 93oct its deserved level of excitement.

I think it's mainly for CA and some other Western US states that have lower octane gas. In that case it's probably better to use the ACN version than have the car pulling timing.

Thanks for the info. I have already contacted bm3 support to see if I can swap the map since I haven't flashed it yet and I actually have access to 93

bootmod3 0.10.084 release is now out! Updates include the following:

- New vehicle support

- (Map Config) Bosch 4bar TMAP sensor support on all MEVD DME cars (N20, N55, S55, S63tu, N63tu).

- (Map Config) Dorch Engineering HPFP support for 1st gen B58 (B58-F and B58-G, non-T0)

- X3M "Stage 1" OTS maps available in open beta under "OTS Maps". S58 with the 4400lb X3M is showing incredible gains so far including 10.8sec 1/4mile with no mods and just E30 octane, 11.0 on just 93 octane!

- Various dashboard and logging enhancements and fixes
Boost Target math channel added for logging target above ~22psi (2.5bar absolute). This has been available by adding Boost target and deviation channels since the beginning but now its just easier. RAM variable logging tested and coming very soon with additional channels

- Agent startup time further reduced

- "Special Agent" no longer a thing for those with bench unlock DMEs. As of this release you'd simply use the standard release and not touch the unlock/relock.

Web and OBD Agent are out, apps to follow as usual.

How do we update the OBD agent? I pressed the update agent button within BM3 however it still shows the previous version number when the OBD agent is open, and takes forever to open and begin running

Another newbie to bm3 question. All I have is full akrapovic catless down pipes straight pipes to exhaust on my 2016 base 6 speed f80 Can I run this stage 2 map? If not what's the safest map I can run with my set up ? Are aftermarket charge pipes and drop in air filters needed? Car is for street use only. [IMG][/IMG]

I have to ask what may be a really dumb question. I bought BM3 about 10 months ago and I flashed an OTS stage 2 tune on it. It has been great, no problems. But I'm just wondering, are these tunes regularly updated? Do they routinely updated and improve the tunes? Or is it just a one time thing and I'm done. I know there are custom tunes but I'm just talking about the OTS one I already own.

The OTS maps do get updates. When you log in to BM3 and list your maps, it should have a tag on your current tune saying an update is available if there had been an update. You then re download the newer map, apply any customizations, and reflash.

Thanks. I'm running 8.6 and looks like I need to update to 9.1. I see a few updates have been made but it does not look like anything fundamentally changed about the tune.

when you acquire the updated tune, DO NOT delete the old one from your account. in the event you don't like the revised one, you can revert to your older tune.

Any plans to integrate GTS MDM, steering and etc? I know there are DIY guides out there, but since you guys already have the GTS DCT flash in there it probably won't be too hard to copy and edit a few lines of params for the other flashes as well.
