So you don't get the GTS or CS DSC coding in any of the packages?

oh no, of course do you get the GTS and CS Files and codings. Our flash package contains three different maps for BMW F8X.

Series (Euro MDM)
Road&Track (CS)

There's practically no difference between BM3 older version of the GTS DCT tune and Thor's newer version.

Ah, okay. Thanks for the clarification.

What if your istep is not new enough for the CS coding? Will THOR update the needed ECUs?

That's not what I am hearing. The latest file is better with less kangaroo throttle response

Are you saying THOR is better or the GTS flash through BM3?

I have MHD and plan on flashing dct. Street use only, already installed Stage 1. Should I do cs or gts dct flash. I shift manually 99% with car in sport plus and dct set to 3 bars.

If thor is using the nov 2019 gets dct file then yes its better than the bm3 one. But would be nice for thor to reply saying they are definitely using the Nov 2019 update

For clarification -

1. When flashing the Dynamic Package "Series" coding, this sets DSC to "Euro OEM" MDM?
1a. But, it also sets the M-diff and steering modules to euro OEM software? (meaning there's no way to flash "Series" DSC to get Euro MDM, and GTS software on the M-diff and steering ECU modules)

2. Is the latest DCT flash in Thor the same software version as the latest BMW file put out in Nov19?

I just got an update on the Android app that says "map updates". Anyone know what exactly was updated and what it improves/fixes?

I got the same and I am interested in seeing the difference. Possibly a new update from BMW for something like a small revision to the EPS or what not for the CS

This is only a map update to current software versions.

Flashing again is not absolutely necessary.

I've seen about 10 different people now ask you if you are using the latest November 2019 GTS DCT update, and you keep dodging the question.

Can you confirm whether you are using the latest November 2019 GTS DCT update or not?

Maybe silly question I don't know....
Is it possible for THOR to improve the maps over time? Do they? How do we know if so and if we need to update?

For connecting the ENET cable with the Ethernet plug to your Smartphone or Tablet you will need an adapter. Those are available on Amazon and a lot of other webshops. For Apple devices just search for “Ethernet Lightning Adapter”. There is only one type. For Android devices there are 2 options. Older Android devices have a Micro-USB port, so you need a Micro-USB to Ethernet adapter, while later devices (like Samsung Galaxy S9) have a USB-C port. Once again, they can be found easily at Amazon and other shops.

https://www.amazon.com/Smays-Realtek...gateway&sr=8-3

https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Etherne...gateway&sr=8-3

https://www.amazon.com/Amatage-Light...gateway&sr=8-5

Setup your Apple Device for THOR with ENET-Cable
First, enable “Flight Mode” in the iOS Settings. When connecting your Lightning-to-Ethernet Adapter to your Apple device, a new option “Ethernet” will appear in your “Settings” panel.

Just make sure your settings are all on “Automatic”. Once you plugged the ENET cable to your BMW and your ignition is turned ON your Apple device will show an IP Address (for instance
169.254.xxx.xxx) and Subnet Mask (255.255.0.0). This might take 30 seconds. As soon as the IP is showing, wait another 10 -15 seconds, before trying to connect.

Setup your Android Device for THOR with ENET-Cable

Android users need to configure the Ethernet port, after connecting the Adapter to their devices. Please open the settings panel on your device. Depending on your Android version, the procedure may be a bit different. This procedure is only necessary on first connect and for wired connections. Your
phone will store those settings for subsequent connects. Eventually you need to re-plug the adapter, after saving the settings to take effect.

1. After connecting cable, press OK
2. Open „Connections“
3. Open „More Conn. Settings“
4. Open „Ethernet“
5. Open „Configure“
6. Ethernet settings

Necessary Ethernet settings (Topic 6) are:
Static IP: 169.254.250.250
Subnet: 255.255.0.0
DNS: 0.0.0.0
Default Gateway: 0.0.0.0
Please enter and save them!

Now you are ready to flash your vehicle with an ENET-Cable and iOS or Android Smartphone/Tablet.

They don't improve it themselves since it's BMW's programming not their own, but when BMW updates those maps it gets integrated into the app. This last happened late last year/early this year. When it does happen you just need to let the app update and then reflash the car to apply those newer maps.

The GTS and CS are even better (more aggressive) than the ZCP
