Good video. I couldn't even get up my minimally inclined driveway in a light dusting with my summer M tires. That was a good lesson.

why do they insist on comparing summer to winter tires. a better comparison would be the people with SUVs who run all season highway tires who think they are unstoppable versus the winter tire.

I want to see a test in 30F weather on dry roads with no snow or ice. That's what most M owners or other RWD owners do with their cars.....drive them in the winter months on non-snow/ice days only.

Unexpected snowfall forced me to drive home in my e90 M3 ZCP with 2 inches of snow on the ground already as I left the movie theatre one night. 7 miles from home and I made it miraculously. I would not repeat although I was impressed with the traction control enabling me to get going and stay in my lane. Had I the proper tires I would have made it home, sideways of course
Thanks for the awesome video. Be safe!

i will say this as I used to be a huge drive it in the winter. But the section you start getting to ungraded roads, highways, dampness you are risking your lifeto no extreme. I spun out doing 70 on the highway in cold damp conditions. thank god VSC. i bought a beater for less than the cost of winter tires.

How about 4wd vs 2wd with winter tires.

The pilots rarely ask if there is a need for landing gear when taking off or landing.
It's puzzling why winter tires are subjected to higher level of skepticism ... |
