M4 vs A90 Supra
Hi guys, new to the forum. I picked a 2018 F82 with 28k miles last year. It now sits at 39k miles. I went to Toyota yesterday, as I was curious about the A90. I was not impressed with the power delivery, the steering and the size of the car. Has anyone done the trade? If so, Are they a better tuning platform than the S55? I have stage 1 bm3 on my otherwise stock M4.

What do you use the car for? Specifically, when you say tuning platform, can you explain what you'll do with the car after it's tuned? (Suspension tuning only, or drag, or canyon carving, or track, or drifting, or auto cross, or roll racing, or daily, etc… answer changes depending on how your respond)

The biggest thing that stood out to me was how much the shorter wheelbase of the A90 affected the driving experience… the car definitely feels like it turns faster than the M4, and as such I had to adjust my steering wheel inputs so the car drove smoothly through the corners. The cabin isn't as quiet as the M4 but I suspect that is a deliberate decision on Toyota's part. I think the A90 would be killer in the canyons because the turn-in is excellent, and it's very maneuverable through the corner transitions. With respect to the A90's power delivery, I found the traction control to be so intrusive that it gives the impression that the power delivery is subpar BUT if you turn it off then I think you'd be impressed by how quick the car actually is. As a daily though, it's sort of terrible lol - the interior is "feels" smaller than the car looks and because there is no back seat I was forced to use the trunk in situations that I never had to in a M4. The A90 is strictly a sports car IMO and it's just not suited for grocery runs, trips to the mall, and life with more than one friend haha. If it's just a weekend car for you with frequent canyon runs, then I think you'd really like the Supra. Lightweight wheels, some sticky tires, and a mild tune would make the A90 an absolute dream in the canyons.
