Could it be that these are just M3 shells with smaller engines, and minimal interiors ?

I can't think they could be wasting precious M3s entirely just for a few seconds of actions...

$80K a pop.... x 10.... = $800k ....

The most obvious changes are staring everyone in the face. It has the sport line's black mirrors in a ton of the shots. So do multiple cars on the trailer.

According to what I have heard, no real M3 was destroyed in this stunt scenes!

The cars were no replicas, but Pre-Series Cars and Testmules of the F80M3 which would have been scrapped in any case. For this reason, the different configurations and colors, the vehicles were mostly only in Silverstone II foiled.

Those are M Performance carbon fiber mirror covers.

Also carbon fiber trunk spoilers.

I would bet he could probably out-drive a majority of the arm chair drivers here.

For close ups and professional performance driving they are actual M3's.
For the stairs sequence it was an xDrive 3er with M3 body.

BTW, they must've modified the hand brake system because you can't really lock the rear wheels like in the movie.
