We don't know, but in this case it's not the spark plugs. If you know what the function, purpose and how a spark plug works then you would know that they would not cause this problem.
This is what we call troubleshooting.
Spark plugs don't have the ability to cause an engine to rev up uncommanded.
They are simply a component in lighting the air/fuel mixture.
They do not control RPM. A failing spark plug would cause the engine to NOT want to run, not rev up.

How do you know?
Having a throttle stick to the floor with 500 hp is always fun. The throttle linkage (could) get caught in the carpet when you floored it. Ford issued a recall fix.

I knew it haha. Drove my friends 4 series the other day. And I couldn't help but wonder if the gas and break pedals were much closer together compared to any other car I have driven. I have larger feet than he does.

Most likely you got scooba flippers for feet and you are pressing the gas brake and clutch at the same time, get the foot mod

As mentioned, computer software was updated and have had zero issues so far.

Had to be frustrating with the comments hurled your way. I mean once, maybe, but over and over? Not your feet - glad it is resolved.

Check spark plugs, maybe an oil change and refill the washer fluid.

That should fix all the issues.

Could be the tire pressure too. Might be off by .5 psi

Whoa, whoa, whoa.... pump those brakes. Now we're getting personal.

Plus, everyone knows the colored M1/M2 buttons are only a partial answer. Absolutely MUST throw in the colored start/stop button to get the full solution.

Everybody knows that if you do BMW service bulletin SB 1337-2015
That you're changing the NGK plugs to DongWu plutonium graphite infused core plugs it will raise your redline to 8500 rpm.
The next possible solution to this guys problem is a bad carburetor and then maybe his exhaust was rusted too causing the rpm problem. We haven't seen his spoiler configuration or tpms history yet so all we can do is guess.
If it comes back , his next step is to do a consult 3 download at the nearest Nissan dealer. They won't hide the hard truths from him like the Bmw dealers do.
