Tire wear

What causes center area tire wear when pressures are as required. I ran 32 psi in this tire but this tire center is pretty worn. Is there any suspension concern or just a characteristic of how this particular tire wears? Blizzack LM001.

How accurate is your tire gauge? Is that 32 cold or hot?

That wear is typical of over inflation. So if all the tires look like that, i would try a lower pressure. Probably decrease it by 5lbs.

If its only one tire and the pressure matches the other tire, then it might be an alignment issue. If its both tires on the same axle, that might also be alignment if the pressures matches the other axle(no tire wear issue).

Thanks for the feedback. 32 is cold pressure. I don’t have a super gauge just a generic one. It does align with tpms when cold.

What does your car read in iDrive for Tire pressure?

Your pressure seems fine. I suspect the rear alignment is not in spec.

In any event, I’d invest in a quality(doesn’t need to be super expensive)digital tire pressure gauge that measures in 1/10 increments and has a purge valve. Then you can really dial them in regardless of what the TPMS says.
