New black bezel headlamps - a complete transformation!

The chrome headlights always bothered me about my car. Lo and behold after engaging Mod Emporium this is what I got.
I decided to paint key inside chrome pieces gloss black. The end result was spectacular! I decided against aftermarket rings - wanted to keep it as oem as possible.

Yes it’s a pain in the neck to remove the bumper and replace the headlamps and it took me about five hours or so but well worth the effort. What does everyone think?

Here’s a how-to video.

Looks good! One thing you might wanna take a look at is I noticed in your after pics the right side where your bumper meets the hood now has a larger gap than the left side.

I think it is the left side on the car has a bigger gap.

Good eye on the hood gap. When I put the bumper together I didn't align it properly. I fixed it now so it's all good

Looks great!

Speaking from experience and learning the hard way, I REALLY hope you allowed at least 24 hours for the paint to dry, before sealing the lens back onto the headlights. Otherwise, as the paint fully cures over the next couple of days, you'll start to get a pretty nasty haze with what looks like little cracks on the inside of the lens. It's impossible to remove without destroying the UV protective coating that's on the inside of most headlight lenses.

Not doing this resulted in my having to order new lenses for my last car and going back in to replace them. No bueno!

With that said, I'm sure you are smarter than I am so feel free to ignore this comment.

What did this run you if you don’t mind me asking? I reached out to Bavgruppe two weeks ago about an estimate on the same procedure only for my LED lenses. I wanted the gloss black inners painted and new lenses in stalled. They sent me an email back saying they could do it but that was it. Emailed them a few times again with no luck. Any idea on who to contact and what the estimate might be?

FYI, I’m located in DC.

I'm also in the DC area. I got the same lack of response from Bavgruppe so I ended up having OnEighty do my black out. Very happy with the work.

It was around $800 for just the black bezels.
You pay extra for new glass but I highly recommend it

What was the cost and turn around from them? I just reached out to them a few hours ago after your recommendation. Did you call or just use their website?

It's better if you give them a call so you can discuss the options with them and get more accurate pricing. Turnaround time is based on their current workload but mine took about two weeks altogether including shipping.

If you've got the patience and balls to do it you can always DIY. I made a thread about the process.

No offense, but looks very eBay - OEM or nothing esp when it comes to lighting.
