Evolve x Bilstein B6 Damptronic Dampers F80 M F82 M4 F83 M4
We have developed these dampers in conjunction with Bilstein UK over a period of 2 years. As good as the original Bilstein dampers were, we wanted to tailor them for use with lowering springs and MSS Height Adjustable Springs.
We worked with Bilstein to change the valving to make the Comfort setting even more compliant and the Sport + setting slightly stiffer giving more range of damping given by the electronic modes in the EDC equipped F80 M3, F82 M4, F83 M4 and M2 CS. These dampers can be used with stock or any lowering springs on the market that work with stock dampers, including MSS Adjustable Springs. They will not work with KW Adjustable Springs/MPHAS. We run these dampers with MSS springs on our own demo F80 M3 and the ride and handling characteristics are the best we've tested on this platform. The front may not sit as low as some people would like with the MSS but we are working on a replacement spring so customers can update in the future if they wish. We have plenty of stock so they are ready to go. Please email sales@evolveautomotive.com to place any orders or for more information. Last edited by Imran@Evolve; 07-20-2022 at 07:55 AM.. |

Aggh, too bad these weren't around a couple years ago! More comfort in Comfort and a stiffer Sport+ would be win-win for sure
Would you mind sharing publicly here the spring rates that are recommended for these dampers? Thanks |

They are not designed for a specific spring rate. |

What is the difference between these dampers and the B6 Damptronic? Is it just the change in valving for comfort and sport+?
I assume the original B6 damper also can be used with lowering springs. |

The B6 can also be used with lowering springs although Bilstein don't recommenced it themselves. |

So, they are not usable with any lowering springs on the market that work with stock dampers? Or are HAS kits like KW and MPHAS not considered lowering springs?

HAS kits are different. They have extra hardware that mounts to the shock. He's referring to any plain-jane lowering springs. The MSS HAS kit does not rely on mounting to the OEM shock like KW and MP HAS kits, so that's why it works.

Is the ride height of your shop car higher on the Bilstein dampers than the stock dampers? Are the dampers longer? This is in reference to your note of the car riding higher than some may like with the MSS springs.

With MSS the problem is accentuated because of the height of the rubber seat. I am working with them to provide a solution to this for those who want to go even lower. |

How do these shocks compare in stiffness to oem? Is comfort similar to stock or perhaps even softer? It seems like the original b6 damptronic comfort setting runs slightly stiffer than comfort stock at lower speeds.
Also is sport mode the same in overall stiffness/feel between original b6 damptronics and evolve version? Thanks. |

The Sport Mode is the same between the 2 version. We have effectively widened the range between Comfort and Sport Plus. |
