What to check before warranty expires
My cars extended warranty is about to expire in a few months. What would you guys recommend I check before I’m all out of warranty? I was thinking of stuff like checking to see if there are any oil leaks and check to see that my rear diff bushings aren’t cracked. Open to any other suggestions. Thanks!

Get an oil consumption test at your BMW dealer. Requires you to bring your car in, then they'll activate some program in your car where it will measure consumption. Then you get sent on your way for 1600km of driving. During this time period you won't be able to check your oil level (since it will never drop).
For reference I felt like I was burning way too much oil so I complained and they had me perform the above - they insisted on an oil change before this test though so be prepared to shell out ~$300 CAD. Could save you over $1000 CAD though if your PCV is bad since the PCV is integrated in the valve cover lol. |

On cold start, listen very carefully for a slight squeal from the engine bay for the first 15-30 seconds, then it goes away. This is a very hard noise to catch if you are not listening for it. For me, it was a pully going bad - replaced under warranty.

Check around the expansion tank and your intercooler. See if there is a white dry seam around it and if your intercooler is low. Intercooler should not be low as it'll indicate it's leaking.
